another week has come and gone! but these past few days have been so fun with my oldest home for the week. nothing too taxing was on our plate beside binge watching netflix and amazon. this girl has been out of the loop as far as current t.v. shows are concerned so my kiddos shared a few of their ‘favorites’ and ‘need-to-watch.’ so we cruised through season one of stranger things and mr. robot which are very well written if not a bit dark. i’m always curious as to what the millennials (my kiddos generation) are interested in and books, t.v., movies are a great way to peek inside their world and stay current. oscar, on the other hand, is always curious as to the here and now and if any squirrels or deer are involved. none were found today in downtown athens, but we did film our first insta-story. if you’re not familiar with instagram, this week they launched a video feature similar to snapchat where you can share 10-second videos. so head on over if you’re curious as to what styleatacertainage is up to! actually, there will only be a video of my ootd posted. per the norm, all items will be linked here on the blog. snapchat remains the only social media channel where you can catch any of the ‘behind the scenes action.’ typically, i’m just goofing off, but on monday i do have a q & a session where i answer 3 questions. so there you have it! all the latest updates from the blog. today’s ootd is pure weekend casual in a neutral color scheme. and, yes, i have a turtleneck on in august. here’s one of my favorite lines from the movie something’s gotta give : “what’s with the turtleneck? don’t you get hot?” “no. not really, i like them. i’ve always liked them.”
on that happy note, oscar and i wish each of you a lovely weekend!

First, I have to tell you that your post notification email is my most looked forward to email. When I scan my list of new emails, yours is the first one I click on!
Second, I love turtlenecks. I don’t usually wear them in the summer, but I do have a couple of mock turtles that I do wear. I usually go for walks during lunchtime so I try to dress as cool as I can and still look work appropriate.
Third, I am loving Instagram. But I didn’t know about the videos! I did see that new icon on my phone this week. See…. your blog is a teaching tool too! now….if only you could help me learn snapchat.

nikki, you always make my day! and thank you for all of the love you have shown. it is so appreciated. and girl, if you’ve figured out all the other social mediums you’ll figure out snapchat. super-easy to use and just darn fun!

Love the outfit but I would have to wear something other than a turtleneck. This old gal doesn’t take to the heat very well. However the turtleneck on you is rather chic with those fabulous sunnies! Oscar has his priorities straight…keep the varmints in line. xoxo
oscar takes his duties seriously! and there are plenty of critters down here in georgia he needs to keep in line. and don’t worry about it being too hot for turtlenecks. fall will be here in the blink of an eye.

Classic simplicity.
I thought of you when I heard a radio spot on the “intense loyalty trait of German Shepherds” recently. đ Hope you and Oscar have a great weekend!
loved diane keaton in that movie. i just plain loved that movie – nancy myers outdid herself with that one. hope your week is off to a great start!

Thank you for your artful and elegant sense of style and for sharing it so generously…I love all the photos; through each, I see more. This brings me to my thanks for featuring the outfits in such complimentary settings – what a gift you and your husband have for painting such a beautiful overall visual picture – what harmonious settings! Dressing is an art in motion, and I believe we need to see Beauty to nurture our spirits and remind of our own enduring and timeless Beauty. Whether it is a stunning sky, an act of kindness, or a moment to click on beautiful colors put together in clothing, the essence of Beauty is life-giving Thanks again, and blessings to all.
Love today’s outfit!

Howdy Beth! Sounds like y’all had some lovely family time together! You and Mr. Oscar, the handsome gentleman, are looking good out and about on your adventures! He seems to be eager to “go in” to wherever that little entrance/doorway is—perhaps it was a restaurant and something smelled good? Cute outfit, as always, and glad you are having a good summer—soon it will be Fall! I am looking forward to seeing the new Fall outfits you will have for us. I always learn something here….a new way to wear things I already have, or a way a new piece will stretch my wardrobe, so thanks so much for that! Come visit me soon…..Debbi at http://www.debbisfrontporch.blogspot.com
