Alright SAACA family, I’d like to welcome you to a brand new series I’ve been wanting to start for a while because I love familiar things and topics to look forward to. So once a month, towards the end of each month, I’m going to be posting a blog post titled, “Pretty Powerful Products…” Welcome to the inaugural post: Pretty Powerful Products for October!

This will be where I round up the beauty, style, or just simple lifestyle finds that have truly wowed me during that particular month. I’ll share the standout products that impressed me most, whether I purchased them myself or received them as PR gifts from brands. These are the gems that have earned a permanent spot in my routine — the ones that actually perform and live up to the hype that made me buy them or use them!
The reason I chose the phrase “Pretty Powerful” is because one of my favorite quotes is from the makeup artist and entrepreneur, Bobbi Brown, who is famously quoted saying, “I believe all women can be pretty without makeup, but with the right makeup, can be pretty powerful”. And to that I say Amen!!

Now get ready for my honest favorites, glowing results, and a dose of inspiration for your next beauty splurge…

Pretty Powerful Products for October

1. Impress Press-On Nails
Impress press-on nails in shade “Rustic Chic,” $8. No glue needed for these, just pull off tabs. Way easier. No dry time for the color, in and out in 10 minutes. I probably buy two styles of these a month and change them up. This burgundy color is so fall – perfect for the season we are in.
2. Dry Shampoo
Crown Affair dry shampoo powder, $42. I know, it’s pricey for a dry shampoo, and I didn’t want to like it, but I do. I got a sample tub of it in one of my Sephora orders, tried it once and was BLOWN away. The big one comes with an easy to use kabuki brush for applying perfectly where you need it, and the smell can only be defined as divine and expensive. It soaks up the greasy hair like nothing else. And it’s refillable so it’ll only be $32 next time I buy it.
3. Brow Pen
Anastasia Beverly Hills Micro Stroke Detailing Waterproof Brow Pen, $28. More often than not, when I fill in brows with a pencil or powder, it doesn’t stay very long, and it doesn’t look like real hair – just a block of color. This pen creates teeny tiny realistic hairs and does not come off, until you scrub it off, seriously. Brows that last and so many colors to choose from. It took a little figuring out to use, but now I’m obsessed. I mix colors: soft brown and chocolate – because mixing two colors is always more realistic than using just one shade!

4. Face Mist
Caudalíe Grape Water Moisturizing Face Mist, $20. My teenage daughter turned me onto this one. I am a big fan of face mists anyway. For refreshing stale afternoon makeup, to spraying before I start the makeup process to hydrate. The sprayer is good on this one and it gives the most gorgeous glow! Also, my daughter has fair sensitive skin that gets red often, and this helps to soothe that with the 100% natural grape water.

5. Ear Lobe Patches
Lobe Wonder ear lobe support patches, $14. I know this seems kinda weird to talk about, but ladies, I don’t go a day without them! I like, okay LOVE, large earrings, and those holes in my ears are starting to droop, so these are a must. They are easily placed and stick behind the earlobe and don’t show. Sometimes, I’ll stack two on top of each other for mega support for the heaviest earrings. Makes a difference!
6. Setting Powder
Huda Beauty Easy Bake setting powder in “cherry blossom,” $39. I had pushed this to the back of my powder drawer and recently pulled it back out, and gosh, does this pink powder do wonders to brighten up the under eyes after concealer! It’s non-comedogenic and vitamin E-enriched and works to subtly color correct, blur, and leave a translucent veil of color on your skin. And the faint cherry smell is reason enough to want to apply it to your face every day! These come in other shades, and Huda tells you specifically who they’re for and what the shades help correct.

7. Complexion Brush
The E.l.f. Complexion Duo brush,$9. If you’re still applying your foundation and concealer with your fingers, stop and buy this! It’s one of my favorites and so inexpensive but super soft! And the head of both the foundation and concealer aren’t too big so they’re easy to maneuver around the face. I have two of these – one in my studio and one in my personal bathroom! Makes doing your cream face products easy and seamless without having to switch out brushes.

8. Stackable Rings
Stackable rings by Bauble Bar, vary in price. You ladies already know I am a fan of the Bauble Bar brand. Such well made, quality driven pieces at great price points. I have been reaching for and stacking these rings daily. It’s a fun way to dress up your hands and anything from here would make a great meaningful gift for the holidays.
