Happy Valentine’s Day, ladies! Well, we’re halfway through February in record time. But February is one month I don’t mind seeing come-and-go, lickety-split. It’s my least favorite month only because I am OVER winter. Over the past week or so, I've been trying to lighten and brighten your wardrobe and day. And today is no different!
It was a gorgeous day in New Orleans on Monday with the sun shining and temps in the 60s. Spring is on its way! I hope you’re catching all the behind-the-scenes on Instagram Stories. I’ve set sail on the mighty Mississippi on the American Queen and the trip is off to a fantastic start!
Tuesday, we stop in Nottoway for a plantation tour and Valentine’s Day lunch. Tonight, I’m dining at the Captain’s Table! Can’t wait.
Today, I'm going to try and lighten and brighten your wardrobe with a pair of wide-leg pants styled 2 ways
I have 2 outfits plus 2 alternative stylings to help you get transition into Spring

Yesterday, I shared how to wear pink pants two different ways. Today, I chose twill navy pants from Talbots that come in three colors.
(A few reviews mentioned they stretched or bagged after several hours. They do have stretch but I didn’t think they bagged out or lost their shape. Sometimes, I completely agree with reviews, and other times I’m scratching my head…)
Navy and white is a fantastic color combination once spring arrives, and if you add stripes to the mix you’ll be feeling quite nauti!
The first OOTD is casual through and through with a striped tee (similar here and here) and white denim jacket popped over the wide-leg pants. A denim jacket is a wardrobe staple and is on style repeat all spring and summer.
And I’ve said it before and I know I’ll say it again, I never met a stripe I didn’t like. I’ve lost count of how many striped tees I own… But, again, they’re a hard-working wardrobe staple that’s worn again and again. Metallic slingbacks from J.Crew are the perfect shoe as they have a casual vibe.
The second OOTD features the navy pants again. This time I added a simple cotton sweater (similar here and here) and a striped tweed blazer from Ann Taylor. The cropped blazer is the perfect complement to wide-leg pants as it adds balance and proportion to the outfit. The tweed blazer also comes in Petite.
(J.Crew)
I love the bracelet sleeve length that gives the opportunity to show off a stack of bracelets. The metallic flats are back in action and look perfect with the wide-leg pants.

I don’t like the pants and I’m not into the stripes anymore I have enough I like the classic pants, straight legs
I hope you caught yesterday’s post where I shared straight-leg pants. Thanks for stopping by!
I am not into wide legs either, I prefer the straight legs. Morse flattering for most people. Love the striped tops though. Loved the pink outfits yesterday. Ordered the pink pants from Talbots, all ready have the red ones and love them! Also did the pink and white blazer and stiped top. So cute! know you are having fun. Wish I was there. lol
Nice post. Navy and white are classics that I enjoy wearing often. I really like how you brightened the look with metallic shoes. These are looks we can replicate fairly easily by using what we have (and maybe adding those pretty metallic shoes). Enjoy the cruise; it sounds wonderful!
I love the wide leg pants and your entire ensemble! I beg to differ with the other posters who say wide leg pants aren’t flattering. I think they can be … Awesome look all together. I’ll check into the WLP on your site (I’m a T. fan). Please keep posting about your river cruise … I want to do that one! We saw the boat in port in Sept. 2021 in Baton Rouge (there for a wedding) but couldn’t board due to Covid/the recent hurricane.
Have fun dining at the captain’s table!
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY, Beth and Kelly! Your Mississippi River cruise sounds amazing. Can’t wait to see lots of pictures and hear even more about your adventures!
