Happy Monday, gang! Happy November! Yes, the holiday season has arrived. Are you ready? Gift Guide season has arrived too. Many brands (and bloggers) are sharing their must-have gifts every direction you turn. We just might run out of steam before Thanksgiving arrives. The times they are a changing and so we must too. But this girl has put off gift guides as I’m enjoying Georgia sports at the moment. Okay, so I’m behind on a few things. If you hadn’t heard, The Georgia Bulldogs are ranked #1, and the Atlanta Braves just might clinch the World Series. Lots of excitement in this neck of the woods, although Sunday night’s game was a heartbreaker. Our bats were hot, but our pitchers struggled on the mound with the final score 9-5 Astros. The series is now 3-2 Braves. Onto game 6 back in my old stomping grounds – Houston. GO BRAVES! No matter if I’m watching football or baseball, it’s fall sweater style this time of year. And I’m loving every minute of it.
If you are like me, you can. not. believe it’s November. November?! There are 24 days until Thanksgiving, 54 days until Christmas and a mere 60 days ’til we usher in 2022. It’s time to think about the holidays in earnest and not just gift-giving. Holiday decorating and holiday meal planning is officially underway. This Thursday, I’m partnering with several bloggers to share our Thanksgiving tablescapes. What fun! This little exercise got me in the mood to think about Christmas and New Year’s Eve tablescapes. Now I’m flipping through cookbooks too. Love this time of year. And I love me my fall sweater style while I’m plotting and planning. How about you?
Fall sweater style never looked so good as in today’s ootd. Cashmere sweaters are always a favorite of mine. I thank my mother for introducing me to cashmere many moons ago. This cashmere poncho from Ann Taylor doesn’t disappoint. This poncho silhouette looks more like a sweater, in my humble opinion, complete with a turtleneck, elbow sleeves, and dropped shoulders. It has a nice slouchy fit that’s easy to throw on over a shirt or a sweater. Plus, it can go to work or the weekend with ease. Today, I chose a pair of faux leather pants from Ann Taylor that are machine washable and fit like a dream. The faux leather pant comes in regular, curvy, petite, and tall. An oversized white shirt from Banana Republic ties back to the white platform sneakers that give this ootd the perfect casual chic vibe.

Look the look Beth but the price is a bit too much for me. Please can you tell me about the necklace is that still available? Happy week π
the necklace is mother-of-pearl picked up years ago when mr. style and i lived in Vietnam.
It is so beautiful Beth and looks absolutely wonderful on you!! Sending love and well wishes xo
i so appreciate you being here!
Hello! Native Houstonian here…I love that we are having a “Southern Slam” World Series! It’s been brutal, but your guys have also been a pleasure to watch.
I enjoy your blog so much and have several pieces of clothing that you’ve recommended and truly love them. Thanks for all the inspiration!
it has been a really good series! my son and daughter-in-law went to Game 3 and loved every minute. may the best team win!
Very cute casual outfit. I have a gray, black and white poncho and a gray, black and pink poncho that I can use instead and get the same look. Thanks for another great idea.
Did you dress up for Halloween and what did you do?
so many ponchos. so little time…. glad you found some inspiration.
As a child of the 70βs I believe you can never beat a poncho. Lovely as usual Beth.
couldn’t agree more, Lisa! thanks for stopping by.
Love sweater weather too! Your whole outfit is very chic. I don’t go for ponchos much, being 5’2″.
This weather in the NE has been a challenge. I haven’t had the chance to wear a sweater yet, but it seems that sweater weather is near!
if it’s November then sweater weather can’t be far behind!
I had the same pants I got them in petite they are great you look wonderful I donβt wear ponchos because they make me look too heavy on me because Iβm petite but thank you again for looking so nice
don’t you just love the pants? great fit and beautiful color.
Love this outfit,Beth! I love grey in any shade and you wear it so well.
such a classic soothing color.
Hi Beth, In last weeks email you were wearing an army green sweater poncho. Where was that from? (it had sleeves and a big loose turtleneck)
that is an old poncho – two years old i believe. i linked a similar one that Talbots carries.
Iβm a little late to the table , just now getting to my emails BUT I wanted to say how lovely you look and how much I like this look!!! You look fabulous as always – thank you for all the work you out in – seeing your post is a highlight in my day! Looking forward to the tablescapes !!!!!
All my best to you and your family!!
thanks, christine!
Hi Beth! I so enjoy your content. Love this outfit. Do the pants run true to size?
Thanks so much for all of your wonderful fashion ideas!
Lesa
thanks, lesa! yes, the pants run true to size.
I love this poncho, but at 5β1β I think it would make me look even shorter. You need some nice long legs like you to pull it off. Love it on you!
thanks, linda!
To all those who say they are too petite to wear a poncho β
My stepdaughter is 5β2β and With a slight build. I knit her a lacy alpaca poncho β and because I knit it, itβs not as long as the purchased ones. There are a lot of poncho patterns available β you just make them shorter and not as wide.
And to Beth β I loved the monochrome look β and I loved your Vietnamese necklace. I have a Chinese one of light green jade that is very similar. I should wear it more!
