summer has disappeared, and with it, long days and short nights. it’s time to revamp our fall routines and fall wardrobes. replace your iced coffee for pumpkin spiced lattes, pile on the layers, and head outside for the promise of crunchy leaves and a brisk wind. Georgia sees its fair share of rain, so raingear is a key element to my wardrobe. from rainboots to umbrellas, raincoats, to windbreakers, i’m always searching for stylish ways to keep those raindrops from falling on my head.
there’s nothing i love more than spending time by the shore, whether it’s lounging on a cabana chair in a swimsuit or adding a layer or two for a leisurely stroll along the beach. here’s a well-kept secret. winter is one of the best times to visit the beach. during the offseason, it’s so peaceful and quiet with the waves lapping onto the shore and salty air swirling overhead. the restaurants are less crowded too. if it’s solitude, you seek far from the maddening crowd you can’t beat the beach all winter long.
October is in full swing, with fall routines and fall wardrobes in place. it’s time to visit the pumpkin patch and think about Halloween costumes. last year i channeled Hot Lips from MASH. Cruella DeVille and the Wicked Witch of the West have also been recent getups of mine. this year? any ideas? it’s back to the drawing board. i might be drawing a blank for a Halloween costume, but i do have my beach outfit down pat. houndstooth pants from Ann Taylor, an ivory turtleneck from Talbots, and a windbreaker (limited sizes, similar here, here, and here) from Banana Republic are neutrals that work together in harmony. the houndstooth pants are slightly cropped and come in regular, curvy, and petite. dress them up for work or dress them down for the weekend; these pants can go anywhere. what can i say about an ivory turtleneck except that it’s a hardworking basic that i love to have on hand? windbreakers have been a favorite of mine since childhood. it’s light enough to take you through the early days of spring or fall and perfect for a walk along the beach.

I appreciate fashion bloggers so much. Getting out and getting photos for us in all kinds of weather. It very helpful to see the clothes on real people. Thanks Beth and this is a great looking outfit, especially the zip up. ❤️
Çok tatlı:) Muğla Türkiye’den sevgiler
Very nice Beth outfit
Are you at the beach again?
Love the pants lenth
I love the beach in the winter too! We get three free weeks annually with our timeshare and North Myrtle is our go-to December through March as it is quiet and we can get an oceanfront unit. 😀
(I got this timeshare from my mom when she no longer wanted to pay the maintenance fees … it ends up being a great trip investment when you didn’t actually pay for it but are only taking care of the annual fees.)
That is a really nice, flattering outfit. Also, you have a great photographer!
I love this casual look and yesterday’s “New York” look. I give you credit for wearing a turtleneck at this time of year. I live in Northern Canada and it has to be good and cold before I even think about turtlenecks. (I’m talking -25 C) I guess our thermometers are all set differently lol
Beautiful pictures of a beautiful lady! You look so relaxed and full of life in these sunset pics. The colour palette suits you to a tea and brings out a youthful glow to your face. – stunning 👏.
Excellent take on fall wardrobe, Beth.
Far from the madding crowd, I believe.
Love the whole look – specially the rainjacket. And the beach as a backdrop…
