Happy Friday, ladies! Tick Tock: Christmas is T minus 9 and we're counting down to the holidays with this plaid blazer from Banana today. Shopping is on our minds or maybe you’re in the throes of wrapping paper and ribbon. I asked my Instagram family if they were still shopping and here are the results: 58% YES, 38% NO 4% Haven’t Started. If you still need a few gift ideas check out our Holiday Gift Guide Roundup.
It’s another busy weekend as I head to Atlanta for a wedding. When I return it’s time to get it in gear as the family will descend on Casa Djalali next Friday for Christmas celebrations. The halls are decked with holly, scented candles are burning and Christmas carols are playing in the background. The most wonderful time of the year has arrived.
Today, we're counting down to the holidays with this plaid blazer
I've modeled it and pulled in 2 alternative outfits
Everything is shoppable via text- and image-widgets
And don't forget: it's Friday! I've got a great cocktail recipe for you
I slipped into a gorgeous plaid blazer with velvet collar, black cashmere sweater, charcoal jeans and a pair of snazzy gold shoes.
Today, I’m serving White Russians that are sooooo delicious and easy to make. Oscar took time from his busy schedule chasing squirrels and snoozing on the guest bed to have his photo snapped.
2 ounces vodka
1 ounce Kahlúa
1 splash heavy cream
Add the vodka and Kahlúa to a rocks glass filled with ice.
Top with the heavy cream and stir.
Lot’s of TV watching this time of year. At least for me. When it’s cold and dark outside at 5PM all I want to do is curl up on the couch.
If you missed my post where I shared Sling TV that’s the cheapest streaming (and easiest) streaming service to watch they’re offering a promotion of half off your first month. Check it out.
Anyone catch the Harry and Meghan documentary? Or the Crown? I have to say season 5 of the Crown is my least favorite. For one thing I just didn’t like the actress who played the Queen. And I just loved Queen Elizabeth and how she carried herself in the midst of lots of drama. And I wasn’t fond of the actress who portrayed Diana although she nailed so many of Diana’s nuances - the head tilt for one and her speaking voice.
As for the documentary Harry and Meghan produced on Netflix all I can say is I’m so very sad their family rift was made public. It’s one thing for the Kardashians (although I think we’re all a little tired of that family) to parade in front of the camera. It’s quite another for the Royal family. Yep, I’m just sad for the Windsors.

I couldn’t agree more on comments about TV shows!
It’s just heartbreaking to watch it play out.
Great outfit, Beth! I especially like that jacket. That is definitely something I would wear with confidence.
Have a relaxing weekend.

I have a very similar blazer that is at least 25 years old. The only difference is that the plaid has some green in it and it has just one velvet button. I could add brass buttons and it would look almost the same. I have Talbots plaid shoes that match it. Christmas Eve will be a casual day running into a dressy evening with no time to go home between. So I will wear your outfit during the day and bring a long black velvet skirt to change into for the evening. Thanks so much for the inspiration! Merry Christmas to you and yours!!
This blazer is my new favorite! It’s festive but chic.
Thanks for stopping by!
My favorite look casual elegance! Beautiful! Completely agree with your comments.
It’s just heartbreaking to watch!
Thank you for your blog. I really like your blazer look today and especially the gold shoes. Have a great time at the wedding. Pats to Ollie and Oscar. Hugs to you.
Awww, Rory, you are always the BEST!
Merry Christmas!
Beth, that blazer is gorgeous on you! And “hi” to Oscar and Ollie!
Thanks, Nancy!
Merry Christmas!
Dear Beth,
As per usual, you look gorgeous in your jacket from BR. You’re a beautiful woman. Perhaps, I missed your post re:
your new hairstyle, are you letting your hair grow-out for a specific new look?
Ha! I took your picture to my stylist and I have your “Pixie!” Just curious!
Have a great time at the wedding!
That’s a cute haircut! I bet you look great!
I used to have an asymmetrical haircut that I’m going back to. Stay tuned!
HI Beth! I am in complete agreement re: your comments on the TV shows and especially that of the Harry and Megan documentary (although “documentary” gives it more credence and dignity than it deserves IMO). I, too, feel embarrassment for the House of Windsor.
Will we get to see the outfit you are wearing for the wedding in Atlanta this weekend? I hope so! Have a fun weekend.
I wore a red dress that’s featured in my Holiday Outfits post and YouTube video.
Thanks for stopping by!
I agree with you totally about the tv programs.
TMI.
It’s heartbreaking to watch!
