Happy Thursday! It had been a little while since I perused Banana Republic and I was impressed with their latest petites collection. The petite collection is easy to find in the main menu which makes for a refreshingly easy shopping experience. More so than my beloved J.Crew, Banana Republic has a robust petite roster. This is especially true for dresses and pants, for which I am always disappointed with J.Crew. Banana’s pants are a great choice for the office – classic, yet up-to-date styles evoke a truly modern, fresh and relevant woman. Today, I am sharing an easy late-winter Work Outfit from Banana Republic.

For a long time I avoided flared leg pant styles thinking they wouldn’t work as well on a short person. Boy, was I misguided! I had fallen into the trap that short people should avoid clothing styles that might make them look shorter. Last year I bought a pair of flare leg pants – in a petite size – and my thinking was transformed. I haven’t looked back, in fact I went all in for flared leg and wide leg styles! The turnaround came from trying properly sized (read: petite) pants. This is key, I believe, in pulling off, feeling comfortable, and enjoying wearing clothing that I once thought wouldn’t work for my shorter stature.
Crop Flare Everywhere Ponte Pant | Demi Cotton Silk Sweater | Loraine Bit Loafer | Mini Shopper Tote
These Crop Flare Everywhere Ponte Pants are super comfortable. They hold you in where they should and don’t get baggy over a day of wear. I love the front pintuck, it creates a nice line down the front. The pull-on style can be dresssed up or down and these pants will work beautifully in spring, fall and winter. They fit true-to-size, I am wearing petite xs.

This Demi Cotton Silk Sweater is also incredibly comfortable; soft and luxurious. I went for the light heather grey color to create a monochromatic look. Plus, this light grey will go with so many bottoms in my closet. The fit is true-to-size, beautifully sized for petites, I am wearing petite xs.

To add a little glam to my outfit I am wearing the plaid sequin Loraine Bit Loafers, I love the addition of feminine sparkle to the menswear-inspired grey houndstooth fabric of these loafers. Such a fun juxtaposition!
The latest addition to my Madewell handbag collection is the Mini Shopper Tote. You will have seen me on the blog with my favorite small every day bag, the small transport crossbody many times before. I have had that particular bag for about 7-8 years, so I felt that it was time to mix things up a bit with a new small-size bag. This Mini Shopper Tote fits the bill perfectly. I chose the dark copper color and it’s a beautiful orange hue. The leather is supple and soft; it comes with a removable crossbody strap.
