modern prep
come fall and winter, i love to throw on a pair of riding boots. with a skirt and tights for a casual day running errands, or skinny jeans for the weekend, they add an extra bit of prep to my step. what’s more classic than a striped button-down? it’s ideal on its own or tucked underneath a sweater. today, i opted for a sweater vest that has a modern vibe yet keeps me toasty warm on this dreary day. i’m lovin’ this wool skirt as it not only has buttons but pockets too!
the rain finally subsided so it was the perfect time to break out my suede jacket that’s been on repeat since the leaves began to change. didn’t i warn you i just might live in it? when we lived in colder climates, i developed a weakness for coats. for years, from october to march outerwear became the focal point of every single outfit. so i decided to make the best of it by owning at least three: casual, work and evening. then if my budget allowed i’d add a coat every chance i had. even though winter is much shorter and milder here in georgia, i’m still a sucker for fab outerwear.

I agree with you Beth—a great coat is such a fabulous piece for those of us in the colder regions!! Heck, I wear one everyday, so why not have it be wonderful?

I admit it–I finally broke down and went ahead and bought the darned jacket. It’s a medium–(I’m normally an XS, so we’ll see. It may be enormous, but such a great buy I thought I’d give it a shot.) They also gave me a number for a store that might just have one in my size–time will tell.
Those boots look comfortable, and I love the rich suede color, too.
has your jacket arrived? if you are a size XS the M will swim on you. but if you can find one in your size it will be worth the wait. this is a beautiful jacket and certain to be a classic i’ll reach for time and again. good luck style twin!

I found a Small, so we’ll see. I had them send it on, and I’ll give it a shot. I have a feeling it will still be big, but maybe it will work. It was such a fabulous buy!
