Even if you’re not a regular wearer of dresses, there’s something about vacation that makes wearing a beautiful and easy dress a little more special. Perhaps this is because we get a break from our everyday lives and feel a little more free to experiment with fun dresses – think bold prints, statement-making colors, and daring silhouettes. But, easy one-and-done casual dresses feel very much like a vacation too!

Another thing I am always excited about for vacation is enjoying slow mornings with a coffee lounging in my hotel room or Airbnb. This means lounging in comfort and style in a cute matching set, whether it’s a lounge set or a pajama set, if it’s comfy for lounging, it makes for a very enjoyable time - very much a vacation!
Pack smartly with your casual vacation daywear so that your decision on what to wear is a no-brainer. I like to think of my activities first, then the weather, and finally choose a color to work around. Neutral pieces that will mix and match with one another are the way to go. Linen and cotton pieces will be easy to pack and won’t require much (if any) steaming or ironing.
A good rule of thumb is to unpack your suitcase as soon as you get situated in your room; hang what needs hanging and place folded items in the dresser or bureau so that your clothes aren’t compacted in the suitcase longer than necessary.

Thanks Beth for all the great outfit tips for traveling. I’m only going on a 2 day trip soon, but your suggestions will work even for a short stay.
Have fun! There’s nothing better than a getaway!
Is there a link for the tan and white palm tree shorts?

Those shorts are last season from Ann Taylor. But keep your eye out as they tend to replicate popular patterns.
