i know, i know, we are almost halfway through august. how does this happen? but i wanted to take a moment and share the top five posts from july before another day passes by. every month we take a deep dive into our analytics to see what resonates with all of you. and summer is such a busy time what with vacations, long weekends, and lazy days by the pool you might have missed a post or two. so in case you were away or taking a hiatus from the internet here’s what resonated with you in july.
even though some of you thought i looked like a candy striper in the outfit this post was a hit! this gorgeous skirt and top are from Lafayette 148. for those of you not familiar with this brand Lafayette 148 New York is a women’s fashion brand based in NYC but available in luxury retailers Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale’s. the brand was created in 1996 and is now headquartered in the Brooklyn Navy Yard with their own workshop and production facility. it’s a rarity in the fashion world to find a brand that combines concept, design, and production under one roof. and i applaud them for that feat. it’s exciting to see a company invested in keeping things stateside.
next up is how to wear jean shorts! if you follow the blog long enough y’all know how much i love denim. and these pull-on shorts from Eileen Fisher are a dream to wear. a pair of denim shorts is a no brainer on any given summer day. that goes for a straw hat too. but when the clouds cover the sun, it’s fun to add a lightweight linen sweater into the mix.
healthy eating with FASTer Way to Fat Loss
every month i like to share at least one health and wellness update. so it comes as no surprise that you’re just as interested in aging with strength and grace just as much as i am. since healthy eating is important to me i’m committed to sharing healthy recipes with y’all ! what do i eat on a typical day? well, i break my fast about 12pm each day so it’s a toss-up if i eat breakfast or go with lunch. eggs are good any time of day so they’re definitely a go-to of mine.
easy to make fourth of july dessert
this holiday dessert is easy to make a perfect to serve after the fireworks. the fourth of july is not only a fun holiday with lots of summer activities built-in but it’s a meaningful holiday to boot. america’s independence came at a great price.
last but certainly not least y’all loved this simple black vest. sometimes the simplest of outfits is the chicest. am i right?!
while the weather is hot and humid on the outside inside is a different matter. so i tend to walk a fine line when it comes to my summer outfits. and i do love to throw on a third layer to add spit and polish. one that’s not too hot or bulky. so let’s talk about how to wear a black vest today. a black vest is a hard-working wardrobe staple. it’s versatile enough to be dressed up or down. and it transitions beautifully from one season to the next. if you haven’t read my series that discusses wardrobe basics start with back to basics. the series was designed to help make getting ready in the morning a breeze. and it all starts with having closet staples on hand that will carry you from season to season. like a black vest.
now that we covered the five most popular july posts let’s take a look at the top ten items you purchased in july. several of the items are from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that’s always a big hit.
