even with everything that’s going on, we’re continuing to show up for you in both new and familiar ways. i guess you’d say the blog is social distancing at its best. right?! yesterday we brought you a beautiful spring outfit featuring a lavender poncho. but today, i wanted to mix things up a bit. since i’ve committed to classic fashion since way back when (can you believe it was during my teenage years?), i love to trot out oldies but goodies. there’s something comforting about slipping into a favorite outfit especially during trying times. a comfy outfit is like comfort food to me. and believe you me, i would wear either of these OOTDs in a heartbeat today especially when working from home. so here it is. timeless classics: stripes, plaids, and blue jeans.
when i’m looking for a little bit of cozy and a little bit of light and i’m certainly looking for both these days i always head to the classics. and what’s better than stripes, blue jeans, plaid and a pair of chucks that always have that too cool for school vibe? they’re like old friends that i never tire of. this photo set was taken on the streets of San Francisco with mr. style behind the lens. a few may be blurry…but hey, that was a part of our learning curve and i wouldn’t trade them for anything.

the second photo set was also taken on the streets of San Francisco just a block or two away from our apartment. i cannot even believe mr. style and i moved over four years ago to set up life in Athens, GA. best decision ever!
sweaters have been always been a go-to for me. again, there’s something comforting and cozy about a cardigan, crew neck or v-neck, and give me a turtleneck at any time of year. sleeveless turtlenecks are a favorite during the summer months but animal print looks fantastic 365 days a year. don’t forget that accessories like jewelry, belts, and shoes add that little something extra to any outfit.

Love these looks and your hair too!!
You didnt mention the bag in the jean/sweater photo – love it! Is it old or is it current – would love to copy!
the handbag is years old and sadly the company is no longer in business which is why you don’t see me carrying it these days.
Great outfits today Beth! Looks like you’re growing your hair out? I like it, and wow!! I have that necklace (from J Crew?) I also have the matching bracelet.
Stay healthy
yes, i’ve been growing the mop out for several months. and the timing couldn’t be more perfect as haircuts will be few and far between for awhile. actually, the necklace is from Talbots at least fifteen years old.
stay healthy too!
You look great, you look fit and trim….thank you for continuing your posts as a bit of a distraction…..
fitness is so important to our overall health and i always say fitness starts with food.
take care!
I copied that first image so fast to my file. I love the stripes with the plaid. It’s too warm here now for that look but it will keep till fall. That’s the beauty of classics. I’ll bet you two had a ball taking these photos even though I know it’s hard work too. You look so pretty!
plaid and stripes is a great way to pattern mix! it’s an easy way to keep our classics fresh and modern.
Your poses make me smile, thanks for not being so serious. Look forward to your blog during these looong shuttered weeks. Keep us on the upbeat.
never take life or yourself too seriously. right?! take care!
This classic look with denim is so me! Thanks for all the ideas. Also should mention that I’ve been noticing the longer hairstyle and must say I’m loving it. Would really enjoy hearing more about the cut and your styling tips as I’m trying to grow out my pixie.
I always see “OOTD” in your posts but no where on your sites do I see what it stands for.
Love following your style. Am definitely a classics woman.

Nice to see memories of Mr Style and his good eye. Several friends online have been cleaning and going through old photos, too–it’s been fun to reminisce. I got some out for my son and we’ve exchanged them in texts. You look great here, Beth! Hope you and your family are all doing very well and staying safe.
Beth I appreciate your posts more than ever. I’m working from home now and in WebEx calls all day long. With the stress of work, technology challenges and trying to support my team, I really look forward to reading your posts in the evening.
Beth, I absolutely love your style. Where is your spotted cardigan from? Is it old?
