give me all the summer! yes, august is hot and humid, but it’s summer’s last hurrah, so let’s soak up every minute of longer days, blue skies, and sunshine. and let’s enjoy summer-loving outfits. when i think of a summer day, i think of color. bright and bold shades of pink, blue, orange, and red put a smile on my face and spring to my step. studies support the connection between colors and our emotions. are you seeing red? do you ever feel blue? how about green with envy? do you view the world in black and white? stop signs are red for a reason. it’s associated with danger and urgency. many corporate logos are blue? why? it’s elementary, my dear; blue has a calming effect and represents trustworthiness. cool colors provide a sense of calm and relaxation and are a no-brainer for bedrooms and bathrooms where we unwind and relax. warm colors remind us of warmth and heat, making them a good choice for dining rooms or kitchens that see a lot of activity.
today’s ootd is all about bright pops of color. one of my favorites is shocking pink or fuschia. pink is a light red hue. it’s an interesting color typically associated with love, kindness, and feminity. but there’s a wide spectrum of pink, starting with a soft pale pink ending with a vibrant hot pink. one shade makes you feel soft and feminine, the other bold and sexy. pink truly runs the gamut, which is why i love this color and love to incorporate it into my wardrobe and lipsticks! the polo tee from Ralph Lauren starts with a bold shade of pink then morphs into violet-blue. it’s a fun tee to wear all summer long and goes with so many things. the paint-splattered denim (similar here) is also from Ralph Lauren, several seasons old. the jeans would be easy to replicate with paint and a paintbrush. go ahead and get creative! the sandals are Arizona Birkenstocks, the handbag Hanner & Clark. and i’m wearing the Tory Burch Kira necklace.

color is good for the soul.
Love the colorful outfit! It would have been perfect to wear in my kindergarten classroom. I had several pants ruined by paint splatters. They would have blended right in on the pants you are wearing. Have a great vacation!!
you are so right! you would have blended right in to the art session.
Love the post! I agree with your take on summer and colors and am looking forward to another month or more of summer up here in NE. The outfit is great on you. I just cannot warm up to tie-die, but almost any tee would go with the pants. Thanks,
we have to soak up every day of that gorgeous sunshine!
