if there’s one day i look forward to all year long, it has to be mother’s day. a celebration that honors motherhood and the influence of mothers in the world at large. you know what they say about the hand that rocks the cradle! motherhood is an exclusive club to be certain. one that i consider myself lucky enough to join. there’s lots of hard work involved along with sleepless nights and a few tears along the way. those faint of heart need not apply. but i’d be lying if i didn’t admit i prefer the title mom, mommy, mother and even mo-ther above all others. gosh, i miss those days when any and all sentences began with mom. sometimes a rapid-fire staccato of mom reverberated in the air. (didn’t i warn you that nerves of steel are required?).
but a mother is a mother all of her life. and i’m forever grateful for my three sons who ushered me into the ‘club.’ and i’m ever so thankful that anna jarvis took it upon herself to commemorate her mother back in 1908 with a memorial service. it didn’t take long before president woodrow wilson signed a proclamation in 1914 designating mother’s day, held on the second sunday in may, as a national holiday to honor mothers. thus a tradition was born.
like clockwork, when the calendar flips the page to may, the steady chant of ‘whaddya want, whaddya want?’ begins. good thing i trained my kiddos well!
breakfast in bed is always a treat. thank you, mr. style!
can you ever go wrong with fresh blooms? i think not. since my guys live near and far, the florist typically delivers a bouquet of flowers to my doorstep. mr. style can always be counted on for a dozen roses.
and presents? why i’m glad, you asked. there’s a wishlist lying around just waiting to be shared. these days it’s as easy as 1.2.3. with copy and paste links. don’t you just love technology? guess what’s always on that list of mine? and i do mean always.
if you guessed jewelry, then you know me as well as mr. style and my kiddos. because if there’s one thing, i treasure it’s a lovely bauble especially if it commemorates a special occasion like mother’s day. this year macy’s has the perfect pair of pearl earrings. the sort that makes my heart go pitter patter ‘cuz we all know how much i love pearls.
if you add diamonds into the mix, well, it’s pretty much guaranteed that i’ll have to wear said pearls immediately. okay, maybe pearls and pajamas might be a stretch. let’s wait until i change into a sweater for the big reveal.
well, what do you think gang? aren’t these gems gorgeous? gorgeous enough to make it onto your mother’s day wishlist too i imagine! and there’s an extra 30-50% off fine jewelry + extra 30% off with code FRIEND 4.27.18 – 5.7.18.
don’t you just love gifts? and a special day like no other that honors all those hard-working mamas out there whatever your age? because a mother is a mother all of her life! wishing each of you a very happy mother’s day. xo

Very pretty! I love pearls as well. They’re timeless. Those look unique. My son always sends me things for Mother’s Day and a knock at the door producing gorgeous blooms is an annual event here. It touches me that he always remembers.
My sister used to send my mom flowers on my sister’s birthday with a card saying “Thanks for having me!”
awww, that is the cutest tradition! i need to show this to my kiddos!

Beautiful earrings! Who wouldn’t get a lot of use out of them?!
they say diamonds are a girl’s best friend. but pearls and diamonds?
