pinstripes and vests
channeling my inner miranda priestly for today’s nine-to-five ootd.
who remembers the movie devil wears prada? when it was released back in 2006 my mom, and i couldn’t wait to see it! we were lucky enought to bring along my oldest’s then girlfriend (he was a junior at northwestern university) to the theater for a fun girls night out. and if you liked fashion (i do, i do) then you loved this movie as it was chock full of fashion forward eye candy from the opening scene to the last. to be certain the lead character, andie, wore one scrumptious outfit after another as she transformed into a heel clacking fashionista. but miranda priestly had a few scene stealers of her own. and today’s ootd reminds me just a teensy bit of her fab navy pinstripe power suit. complete with vest.

early this week i paid another visit to nordstrom and discovered this gorgeous pair of pinstripe pants. the brand is new to me – classiques entier – but if these pants are any indication of what to expect i’m sold. what a great fit this sash wrapped waist has. and i’m a sucker for pinstripes. so they came home with me.
of course, there are soooo many styling options available when it comes to neutrals. but i kept it simple today by adding a white button down and navy vest similar here that’s perfect for the office.
blue and black is a killer color combo. so out came a pair of capped toes shoes and black hobo bag similar here and here to add a pinch of black to this outfit.
subtle and sophisticated miranda just might approve of today’s ootd. it’s thursday, ladies. we’ve almost made it!
great pants! and love the shoes. You look terrific! That was a fun movie.
Loved The Devil Wears Prada and I love a fitted vest like the one you are wearing. I haven’t seen many of this type around recently and hope it returns as I think it is very flattering.
