do you ever find yourself in a fashion rut? it’s easy to fall into. we’ve all been there, standing in front of the closet, muttering, “i’ve nothing to wear.” but yet, the closet is full of shirts, pants, and skirts. when this happens to me, i reach for the simplest of outfits. most of us have one or two silk blouses hanging in our closet, and the same goes for a pair of black trousers. so put them together and what have got? timeless perfection. oh sure, my ootd won’t win any style awards, but it works. sometimes, that’s all that’s needed. simple, sleek, and sophisticated. and perfect for the office.

LOVE this outfit! Sometimes simple basics are the best!
what would we do without our go-to outfit? simple is sometimes better.

After seeing endless skinny pants, your pant silhouette is very welcome and extremely flattering. How true is the adage “less is more?”
i’m liking these flared pants as well. i’m also toying with the flared, cropped pants – just haven’t found one that i loved.

I disagree you won’t win any awards for this outfit!!! I love the monochromatic look and those pants are killer on you!

The first thing I thought of when I saw your black outfit was the number of lint rollers you must go through with a big, shedding dog! (I have a yellow lab.) When I wear black, I can’t put it on until I’m ready to walk out the door or I’ll end up looking like I rolled around on a capret of fur.
you are spot on with your observation! i sort of look like oscar when i wear black. luckily, i have a purse-sized lint roll that bails me out from time-to-time!

Hi there, I just discovered your blog from Pinterest, and I just have to say, you are adorable!! I LOVE your style already, and am totally going to steal your looks! Even though I’m in my mid-thirties, I can relate to much of your content. Any fitness/well-being tips to share?? I hope to look as great as you someday! 🙂
It is nice to see a different profile in pants. Lint rollers are all over the house…
