the spring that never was continues, gang. there’s an old wives tale that claimed ‘in like a lion out like a lamb’ if that holds true our temps may climb back out of the forties by the end of the week, but i’m not counting on anything these days. the current string of cold temperatures reminded me of last fall when i paid a visit to boston at the end of september. the weather was a sweltering ninety degrees! maybe the seasons are shifting where fall starts in november and spring is delayed until may. who knows? one thing is for sure we are ready to bid winter adieu.
regardless of this crazy weather pattern, i am wearing a gorgeous suede number trimmed with leather from classic French brand 1.2.3. oh, la, la! today i’ve paired this suede jacket with the matching skirt to create a monochromatic outfit. there’s something undeniably cool and chic about a head-to-toe color scheme. just take a look at a typical new yorker clad in their all-black outfit. plus, a monochromatic outfit saves lots of time in the morning as there’s no pattern or color mix dilemma to solve.
isn’t this jacket gorgeous? notice how the leather patch pockets add a touch of playfulness but don’t put a damper on sophistication. that’s how to keep an outfit fresh and modern. this suede jacket is an investment piece that will mix and match with so many items in my wardrobe for years to come. that’s what i love most about classic style – it’s timeless.
as i mentioned i’ve got my monochromatic game going strong today with a column of brown that starts with my block heel shoes then handbag, and onto the matching skirt and jacket. i added an ivory silk blouse to compliment the two-toned handbag. but a gorgeous brown sweater would look divine. love, love, love this elegant ensemble, but i cannot wait to split the jacket and skirt apart then mix and match to my heart’s delight. i see white denim in my future, ladies.
okay, okay, who is ready to kick off the last week of march?! can you believe we almost have three months of 2018 under our belts? happy monday, ladies!
