Where did the weekend disappear to? Just like that, it’s Monday! Thanksgiving is just a few days away, so we’re all busy prepping for the big day. Growing up, I loved all things Thanksgiving. From watching my Mom wrangle the turkey in the oven (she swore by putting it in a paper bag!), tuning into the Macy’s Day parade, then onto football blaring from the TV. When it was time for my Dad to carve the turkey, I was responsible for mashing the potatoes and stirring the homemade gravy. Then the big moment arrived when we all sat down to give thanks and dig into the culinary delights on the table. I just love this holiday! And I love that we can slow down momentarily and reflect on what we’re truly thankful for. Of course, my family and friends are always on my gratitude list. But I’m thankful for my health. And working wi-fi too! That’s how I keep in touch with all of you - my blog family. How about the ability to Google any question? Or uncontrollable laughter? Old photos or even sweater weather. Being grateful runs the gamut from serious to lighthearted. Practicing gratitude is so important and truly changes our mindset. We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude. What are you thankful for today?

Several weeks ago, I shared a monochromatic outfit in a bold shade of pink. Today, it’s all about winter white. I’m just crazy about this color during the dark and dreary winter months, as it instantly brightens my mood. The outfit starts with the Carter Pants from J. McLaughlin (they’re lined, so no need to worry about lumps and bumps showing) that come in several colors. I own black and ivory and a gorgeous shade of pink in linen. Just like the Arlette turtleneck, the Carter Pants have a fantastic fit and are pants I can rely on year after year. And J. McLaughlin is having a fall sale with up to 40% off.

A simple merino crewneck sweater from Banana Republic (holding a 40% off purchase sale) has a generous fit - neither tight nor loose. And I can’t sing the praises enough of this puffer jacket with side snaps and three-quarter sleeves. Pointy-toed boots (old, similar here and here) add sophistication. But what about this adorable handbag in a dainty medallion print that adds personality to this serene outfit? Accessories always add that little extra something.

Happy Holidays, Denise!
That handbag is adorable! I typically avoid patterned handbags for fear that they are “too busy” and not particularly versatile, but matching that kind of handbag with a monochromatic outfit gives a real burst of interest to the outfit while keeping everything else elegant and simple. Brava!
I’m glad you liked that pop of color! It’s such a fun bag to carry.
Dreamy.
I just love winter white!
Just gorgeous!!
Very elegant look. Are you sure you are not related to Coco Chanel! Perfection.
Aren’t you sweet?! Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks, Carolina girl!
