Happy Thursday! I really enjoy dressing up for the holidays. When I worked in the corporate world there were always so many parties to attend – and reasons to get dressed up in festive tartan prints and sparkly outfits. These days there are fewer parties, but even going out to dinner during the holiday season is enough reason for me to dress festively. Beth shared several beautiful holiday outfits all through November (Check them out here, here, and here), so today I want to share with you a Holiday Outfit for Petites from Talbots.

I want to talk about the Bow Detail Ruffle Neck Top first because I plan to alter it. First of all, the material is polyester and it is a bit on the stiff side, it kind of feels akin to ribbon material, which makes it not very tuckable. So, the alteration I want to make is to shorten the length by about 2 to 3 inches. OK, given my description of the material, I will say that this top is not uncomfortable. I don’t find it itchy or anything like that.
On to the print – I love this plaid print! It’s called “Celebrate Plaid.” The bright gold stripes in the plaid feel celebratory. And in person, the gold is bright and eye-catching. Plus, I just love a ruffle neck and bow, it feels feminine and so festive for the holidays.

The Hampshire Ankle Pants are my favorite pant style at Talbots. The petite sizing is great; so I couldn’t resist this holiday version with the gold sequin tuxedo stripe. Such a fun detail that emphasizes the gold in the Bow Detail Ruffle Neck Top. I think these pants would look really smart with the Gold Flower Print Audrey Sweater, which I almost went with, but then I saw the ruffle and bow top.

I love gold accessories any time but this outfit, with its gold details, practically screams to be accented with gold accessories. My Alice Heel Pumps are from last year, but they’re still available. Unfortunately, my bag is no longer available at Frances Valentine, but there is another version worth looking at, the Iron Hobo Platino Leather Bag.

Cute pants, but I would have to go with the Audrey cashmere sweater. Sleeveless blouse would not work in the Minnesota winter. I would be cold.
I agree, Sherry! No need to sacrifice comfort for fashion, especially with so many pretty holiday sweaters at Talbots! Thanks for stopping by today, xo Kelly
