it’s february. which means love is in the air. it’s time to think about what to wear for valentine’s day. or maybe it’s galentine’s day where you grab your best girlfriends and celebrate. whichever the case may be i’ll share a few ootd’s for inspiration. february can be a gloomy month, so it’s fun to punch it up with pinks and reds and bold colors.
but guess what? today’s valentine’s day outfit is anything but bright. nope. i stayed in the neutral zone with black and white. this is a tried and true color combination that works any time of year. when i make an investment in a gorgeous silk blouse, i want it to last. for years. don’t forget silk wrinkles if that’s a deal breaker. if wrinkles aren’t a deal breaker, then this mandarine collar blouse is a feminine addition to your wardrobe that will be the anchor to so many outfits. i particularly love the tone-on-tone dots.
everlane has been my go-to store this winter from sweaters to coats to pants. so i thought i would try their slim-wool pants that have a touch of stretch. the black pants have a gradual taper through the leg. perfect for day or night. a pair of black patent leather mary jane pumps last seen here is the perfect companion to ankle length pants. but these shoes look terrific with dresses and skirts. love, love, love a versatile item.
date night wouldn’t be complete without a few key accessories. in this case, a statement necklace that was a christmas gift from my kiddos (similar here), bangles, and clutch handbag (similar here), and a bold red lip.
