Classic Summer Combination: Black and White
Today, I’m headed to the beach house in Tybee. It’s an easy drive, about four hours in all, and I typically listen to an audiobook all the way there and all the way back home. Next week I’ll share what I packed for the beach. Hint: swimsuits and more swimsuits with linen shorts and pants. Lazy days spent on the beach require lots of swimwear and easy breezy outfits to slip into afterward. I’m ready for blue skies, sunshine, and sand between my toes. But before I head out, today I have a classic summer combination: black and white – for both my ootd and my back patio decor!

Classic Summer Combination: Black and White
1. My Black and White Patio
Before I zip off, let’s take a look at my patio that sits directly across from the patio I shared yesterday. Many of you might remember I embarked on a major landscaping project two years ago. A walkway was put in that connects both patios with new beds on either side. The foliage is coming in nicely this year, even though many of my plants took it on the chin when a late freeze blew through after the buds had appeared. The chairs were recovered last year with black and white stripe Sunbrella fabric I ordered from Ballard Designs.

It’s only fitting I’m wearing a black and white ootd to match my setting. A simple scoop neck black tee from Banana Republic is paired with flare denim jeans. Black espadrilles, black leather handbag with bamboo handle and a black belt complete the outfit.
