Love, love, love the texture! I always try to add some texture, many times it’s my handbag or shoes. Of course being in Central Mississippi, it won’t be long before the texture we’ll have here is sweat! In the spring & summer, my white oversized shirt is a staple; you can dress it up & dress it down. Love your posts from a fellow Southern woman!!

    • Beth Djalali says:

great tips about your handbag and shoes! and, yes, the sweat factor will crop up sooner rather than later in the south. thanks so much for stopping by. xo

Exciting that Christian’s brother is getting married! You look great, and from the sound of it, he’s going to be stylin’ too.

  3. Rhea Dawson says:

I love texture too! Your outfit looks smart.

How I envy those ballet flats. I can’t wear them nor can I wear heals due to a bunion and hammer toes. Any suggestions?

Personally, I love that you shop from your closet. So do I and you are giving me all kinds of good ideas today. I tend to keep my jackets a very long time which is why I try to buy classic styles. Adding in something new, be it a shirt or jewelry or purse is my nod to current trends. Can’t wait to see what you wear to the upcoming wedding!

    • Beth Djalali says:

that’s the best part about classic style. some items last for years and years. i’ll try to put together a mother of the groom post and share a few of the dresses that are in the running. xo

  6. Cyndi says:

Looks like a great casual but put together outfit. Spring is always a challenge for me, I want to break out all my warm weather clothes, but end up freezing. This looks like the perfect outfit to cover all the temperature bases.

    • Beth Djalali says:

transitioning from one season to another is the trickiest time of year. coat, no coat. boots, no boots. layers are always the way to go and if the temps warm up we can shed one item. xo

  7. Amy says:

Please post about selecting Mother of the groom/bride dresses. It’s challenging to find something that is age appropriate and stylish. Everything looks too young or too old.

    Hi Beth
I love that you have links to clothing and products shown in your blog. It is very helpful to me when searching for similar items and planning what to wear. I get many great new ideas and brands to try from you. Thank you. I am looking forward to seeing your wedding attire, too. I love your classic style with an edge and some whimsy.

    • Beth Djalali says:

thanks so much for stopping by joanie! it’s so good to hear you’re finding outfit inspiration. that’s what the blog is all about. xo

  9. Beth M. says:

I’m with you on the texture, and it really does make a big difference in this outfit!

  10. Barb says:

I love your blog and your style. Recipes are amazing. I found today’s links disconcerting. Anyone who would pay $500 for a white shirt needs a serious attitude adjustment. I found this as a senior consumer very disconcerting. One should know better and do better at our age. $200 luxury brand still crazy but !!

    • Beth Djalali says:

everyone has a price point that works for their budget. and style can be translated into any price point. so feel free to spend what you feel comfortable with. and let others do the same. xo

  11. Jo Hildebrand says:

Are you taking us along for your Mother of the Groom dress shopping??? I hope; I hope!!!

  12. Gloria says:

You have sported the Talbot’s girlfriend jeans several times, and today mention that they are a more relaxed fit. How do they compare to the boyfriend cut? I have a couple of pairs of boyfriend cut, and I do love them. They are comfortable, but I don’t want to miss out on something that might be MORE comfortable! Thanks.

    • Beth Djalali says:

the girlfriend jeans do not have the generous fit of boyrfriend jeans. but i think that’s why many of us like girlfriends. they have a looser fit than skinny jeans which sometimes feel like jeggings these days. but overall it’s still a slim fit. hope this helps. xo

  13. Sandy N says:

Congratulations on 4 years of blogging! I’m looking forward to your mother of the groom outfit, too.

  14. Lynne says:

Can’t wait to see your m.o.g. dress! I have a son getting married in December and need ideas!

    • Beth Djalali says:

it can be a daunting task to find the right dress. our son is having a destination wedding so a little more low key than many weddings. but i’ll share my finds with you. xo
