summer stripes
it’s true. the dog days of summer have arrived. can you believe it? august is more than half over… but if you are like me, you might be scratching your head as to how to stay cool, stylish and keep your look as fresh as a daisy. these days, even my potted plants are a little weary of summer. but take heart! when the going gets tough, i put a summer staple on repeat. today, i’m wearing a striped linen skirt you’ve seen several times before here on the blog. take a look at the last two photos to see how i styled it last august while living in san francisco, and earlier this year. skirts are a versatile staple in my closet, but i’m always racking my brain as to how to mix things up from time-to-time. sometimes, it’s as easy as exchanging shoes and handbag. other times, a jacket is swapped for a sweater. of course, don’t forget the transforming power of accessories – bracelets and earrings are icing on the cake. for a breezy ootd that easily keeps me looking fresh, i simply added a denim vest. it keeps the overall look polished, but casual. silver baubles, striped flats, and tote, and this outfit is in the books.

I have a blue jean vest like yours but because I am pale and my arms aren’t as gorgeous as yours, when I wear it without sleeves I look like a Harley rider. Do you think the look would still be cute with a longer short sleeve summer top?
this denim vest will look great with everything. although, if you had a harley, and a sleeveless tee, well, that would make a statement! but seriously, any length of tee or shirt would look perfect paired with a denim vest.

Never met a stripe I didn’t like. I think a denim vest is great–spans seasons–I have one that gets a lot of use–they are so comfortable. More great looks with that skirt!

Love all the styling of the striped skirt but the last one is probably my favorite. Wish I still had all the straw handbags from years past. They are just fun and summery. xoxo
