who doesn’t like a comfy casual look to bum around town in? especially if the color scheme is red and khaki. even though this ootd is laid-back through-and-through i still like to add a bit of polish to it. that’s where a few fun details come in and the right accessories. let’s take a look at the chino’s first. they have cargo pockets, a tapered leg, and zippers. put them together and what have you got? bippity, boppity, boo. (name that tune) i couldn’t resist that one… but you get the point. all three of these details add subtle sophistication to an otherwise ordinary pant. and the striped sweater? dolman sleeves for starters. sleeves trimmed in solid red and a high/low hem.
as for accessories, thong sandals have the addition of a toe ring. instead of a handbag, i chose a red backpack to reinforce the color scheme. it also gives me the ease of shopping hands-free and has that cool factor. the sunnies also add to this casually chic vibe with aviator frames. and a bold lip? why not? it adds a little sass. and who doesn’t like that?
good golly miss molly is it already june? ‘cuz may zipped by in a blur. before you know it, it’ll be christmas . so let’s enjoy today while it’s here!

So I enjoy your blog because you like the same things I do, and red and khaki are definitely on the list. The top looks great and I love all the red accessories. Slam dunk!
hi sharon! khaki and red is another classic color combo that i love to wear. there’s something crisp about it. it looks good in summer or winter. and red shoes? what can we say except they always deliver a nice punch to any outfit.

I always think of my grandfather, who loved a woman in red, whenever I see it looking good on someone, or when I wear it myself! Touche. Red is just cheerful, especially a true red like these are. Fun!
(Mr Style did great catching those gorgeous petunias, the beautiful wrought iron fencing, and the frondy greens out there!)
aww, that is so cute. i’m always amazed how fashion can instantly conjure memories. i think that’s why i love it so.

The sweater is from Cabi fairy godmother and I have it too. It’s one of my summer favorites since summers are cooler in Colorado and we have no humidity like you southern ladies do. I love the casual comfy styling of it.
this sweater is a dream to wear isnt it?! perfect for a cooler summer day which we have had more than our share so far this year. i’ll take it.
