i’m a city girl at heart: my heart goes pitter-patter at the sight of concrete sidewalks, coffee shops, and sidewalk cafes. but there’s something to be said about a walk along a quiet riverbank: flora and fauna, you’re a welcome sight. and here in georgia, you don’t have to venture far to find a quiet place away from it all. when i need a bit space to clear my thoughts, a walk down a long winding path is perfect, especially when on a gorgeous fall day.
i’m binge watching the crown. i completely understand the royal family’s desire to retreat to the countryside. although i’m still on the fence about the series, it’s well done from every aspect–cast, costumes, cinematography are all first rate. it’s a little slow-paced, but maybe that’s the point. queen elizabeth is steady and sure and has been for decades. maybe her royal highness would give my ootd the royal stamp of approval. riding boots, puffer vest, and chunky knit sweater are classically chic on either side of the pond.
happy hump day!

My favourite outfit for the winter. High boots with flat heels, opaque tights and skirt. Love it!
tights and boots – you just can’t beat this combo come winter!

Perfection! Love all the textures…nice detailing on the boots. I remember having a pleated skirt (kilt?) with a large pin.
these boots are quickly becoming one of my all time favorites. i previously owned a pair of riding boots from Talbots with harness detailing that i wore non-stop until i finally had to retire them due to years of use. i forsee the same future for this pair.

I don’t know if there are enough superlatives for me to tell you how much I love that skirt and those boots. Such beautiful shots as well. Hats off to Mr. Style.
you are always such a sweetheart! but mr. style does a fabulous job with the photos. i am one lucky girl!

I love the skirt, too! Have the boots myself and they are becoming a fave. Looks great! Enjoy your walk–getting back to nature is good for the soul, I find. Good for you! Haven’t seen the Crown, and have debated if I want to get into it–now you’ll intrigue me to check it out. Maybe I’ll wait and watch when it’s on netflix so I can skim through the whole thing! enjoy! The queen would approve, I’m sure. Where’s your corgi?? (Or at least Oscar?)
don’t you love the boots? they’re perfect all winter long. fyi ‘the crown’ is on netflix so need to wait. you can binge watch over thanksgiving weekend munching on leftovers.

Love this look but short neck and high thermostat prevent me from wearing turlenecks, cowls. Any suggestions for under vest,I have a plaid one I love and a pink puffer.
hi bonnie! there are some terrific mock turtlenecks in cotton. and cotton is cool and breathable. otherwise, a button-up would be perfect. or a long-sleeve tee.
