one more daily outfit post for november and one more fridays with oscar. then it’s onto december. let the gift giving begin! i don’t know why, but it’s so much fun to search for stocking stuffers or cute gag gifts. several years ago, i found lumps of coal packaged in burlap sacks (the coal was candy) that were perfect to give to my kiddos wrapped in pretty paper. gotcha! some years, we write poems to go with the gag gifts. it’s always great fun to see what sort of limerick we can conjure. it’s all in good fun, but we can razz each other something fierce. like father like daughter. now it’s mother like son. after all these years, mr. style still worries someone’s feelings might be hurt. isn’t he sweet? but he’s more or less gotten into the spirit of things as no one loves a pun as much as he does.
well, it’s been a bit chilly down here in georgia. but i have my georgia bulldog colors flying strong today. in case you hadn’t heard #4 georgia faces off against #1 alabama in the college playoffs this weekend. hopefully, it’s not a repeat of the national championship game. somebody has to knock off ‘bama. it looks as if the task falls to the bulldogs. GO DAWGS! this saturday, you’ll know where to find me. i’ll be glued in front of my television set biting my nails for the duration of the afternoon.
since today’s ootd is all about staying warm out came my red stadium coat reserved for the coldest days. a houndstooth cashmere scarf is a chic and stylish accessory perfect for winter. white denim, striped cashmere crewneck, sweater blazer, black ankle boots, and quilted hobo handbag fill in the blanks underneath the overcoat. notice anything new? every once in awhile i break down and purchase a new pair of sunglasses. this pair is by a designer that’s new to me – Krewe. jessica biel sported a pair in a photograph that caught my eye. now i’m sharing them with you. Krewe is sold at Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales. plus, they have an online store. i am wearing franklin in pink havanana. so far i’m impressed with the lightweight frames.

Nothing like a bright red–your stadium coat is a real standout. We’re finally at the point here where our weather is cold and staying brisk. I’m relieved–I’m not a fan of changing 15 times a day for warmth or heat. Layers are important in the south!
We do some similar exchanges with gifts that are just for fun/gag gifts. T-shirts often make an appearance in that realm. The poem is a nice touch!
this red stadium coat is one of my favorites! love how t-shirts make it into your stocking stuffers. i’ll have to remember that! xo
Very nice Beth! Houndstooth always a great choice, especially with red.
glen plaid and houndstooth are two of my favorite menswear inspired patterns. there’s something so chic about them. xo
