fridays with oscar

it’s off to the big peach today to celebrate my b-day. mr. style and i love to bop down and cruise around midtown, atlanta which is a very walkable neighborhood smack-dab in the middle of the city.

 ahem, i guess there’s a reason they call it midtown. but there are loads of restaurants scattered throughout and lots of great architecture to oogle. it really doesn’t take much to please this girl.

once oscar watches the suitcase roll out of the closet, he knows what’s up. immediately the wheels start to turn in his head “hey, what about me?”  “maybe they’ll whisk me off to the vet. or maybe i’ll get lucky, and someone will come to my house to spend the weekend with me….”

it appears oscar much prefers the second option. in any case, he’s taking zero chances with a quick exit out of the car. you can’t fool this guy that’s for certain.

hmmm, wait a minute. maybe i can convince him to hop in the backseat. think he’s gonna take the bait? that looks like a skeptical tilt to the head…

in case you’re wondering oscar was able to stay in his own digs this weekend. there were too many duties that he was remiss to leave behind. you know the ones, sleeping on the guest room bed (or is it his bed?), patrolling his yard and making sure the deer never come too close. and then there’s that treat jar that needs daily monitoring.

yes, oscar’s duties are quite extensive. far be it for me to make him miss a day. besides, one of his favorite djalali’s is spending the weekend with him, so there’s plenty of walks included. and maybe a few snuggles on the leather couch. um hmmm, oscar not only sleeps in human beds but leather couches as well. i can certainly see why his opinion of going to the vet takes second place.

but enough of oscar, it’s back to me and my snazzy outfit. whenever i want a no-brainer ootd i always reach for my style uniform. can anyone remember what it is? that’s right. i always head to the 4B’s: blazer, button-up, blue jeans and ballet flats. today, i swapped the button-up for a jazzy new tee from Talbots Parisian collection. it’s a fitting gesture as ‘au revoir’ is emblazoned in blue sequins across the top. of course, my red shoes are back in action. and my new favorite handbag – a camera crossbody bag. a navy blue blazer similar here and girlfriend jeans tame the bold shades of red used as accents. all-in-all i’m ready to get this party started.
