4 Products For The Ultimate Fall Makeup Look

Alright, ladies, we are going to welcome in the official fall season by trying out the “pumpkin spice” makeup look that is trending! When you hear the words pumpkin spice, it’s a whole fall mood, right??  And what better way to celebrate fall than by letting your makeup channel those warm, cozy, cinnamon-y vibes?

Pumpkin Spice Makeup Look

But guess what I must admit –  I don’t like the taste or smell of ANYTHING pumpkin related.  I know, I know, this might sound shocking, but it’s true. I love to decorate my entire house and porch with pumpkin-related items this time of year, but that’s where it stops. I don’t even want my candle pumpkin scented…anyone else??

However, I can appreciate the color palette and overall vibe of pumpkin spice, which is why I wanted to show you how to channel this very fall-like makeup inspiration you can make your own.

If you want to nail the pumpkin spice makeup look, you don’t need a drawer full of products.

Keep your base makeup look of skincare, foundation, brow products, and mascara, etc. All you’ll need to update with are these four essentials. You can get the soft, glowing, autumn-ready face that makes you look as good as your favorite pumpkin spice latte tastes…if you actually like that sort of thing.

Pumpkin Spice Makeup Look

applying eyeshadow base

1. A Warm-Toned Brown Eyeshadow Palette

The eyes are the centerpiece of this look. Reach for a palette with rich terracottas, golden shimmers, or even burnt oranges to mimic those PSL hues. I chose the ironically named “Spice” mini palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills, $32, for this look, and it was perfect!

shimmery highlighter

I used a blend of the lighter caramel shades along the crease, then added the deeper rust and cinnamon brown shades just onto the outer corners. I then used the very fun shimmery shades of gold and salmon on the lids for that pumpkin spice “latte foam” glow. These included shimmers are BOLD and not for the faint of heart, so you’ve been warned – but every now and then I like to shine bright!

I then lined my upper lids with the Maybelline master precise liquid liner, $9, in “forest brown,” then lined the lower rim with a bronzed pencil by Laura Mercier, $25. Finally added a little of that warmth along my lower lash line with the shimmer bronze shadow for extra coziness.

2. A Flattering, Spiced Blush

Think of your blush as the whipped cream topping—without it, the whole pumpkin spice latte feels incomplete. A warm peach, apricot, or soft terracotta blush instantly wakes up the complexion and ties in with those warm-toned shadows.

setting powder

Before I apply my blush, I like to set my foundation and concealer with a loose powder. If you haven’t tried out the L’Oreal Infallible Blur-fection powder, $13, do it! I’m using the translucent shade here.

I chose the Nars Afterglow Liquid Blush (that I can’t get enough of!) in shade “Aragon,” $24, which is a warm chestnut brown. I pressed it across the apples of my cheeks and slightly upward toward my temples for a lifted, fresh-from-the-fall-air flush. It’s an absolutely gorgeous must-have fall blush, if I do say so myself.

liquid blush application

You can’t do a liquid blush without this cream blush brush, $24, by Rare Beauty either. It makes cream blush look so effortless – unlike using your fingers, which can read streaky.

3. A Glowy, Cinnamon-Toned Highlighter

This look calls for a glow that’s more “autumn candlelight” than blinding summer shimmer. Choose a highlighter with a golden or champagne undertone—nothing too icy—to complement the warmth of your pumpkin-spiced-inspired shades.

I chose to keep both of my cheek products in the cream category, which is why I picked my Charlotte Tilbury Beauty light wand, $42, in shade “medium” to create this candlelit look. It leans more toward a copper highlight, but I love the way it turned out. I tapped it on top of my cheekbones and bridge of my nose, to boost the radiance on my face.

Don’t underestimate the power of a touch of highlighter – it makes for a happy face!

4. A Spiced Brown-Nude Lipstick

No pumpkin spice makeup look is complete without the perfect lip. Skip the bright oranges (unless you’re feeling bold!) and go for a spiced nude—think warm brown, cinnamon pink, or terracotta nude.

A creamy lipstick or velvet matte formula is ideal because it feels polished yet effortless, just like your PSL-in-hand selfies. I chose the mega long-wear formula by Maybelline, the SuperStay matte Ink, $6, which they just reformulated, and it’s incredible! It stays on forever, trust me.  I’m wearing shade 510 “Charmer” along with the new Morphe signature lip liner, $7, in shade “Honey,” a beige nude.

    Hi Jennifer,
I hate using eyeliner because it always smudges and looks like I have raccoon eyes, especially under the lower lid. Is there a liner that doesn’t do that??
    Thanks!
