The Beauty Products Making The Aging Process A Little Easier Right Now

I 100% agree that aging is a privilege for sure, buuuutt sometimes it feels like a FULL-TIME JOB. And I am only talking about the physical upkeep and care of our FACES – ha ha!! As a freelance makeup artist and an online content creator, I take it as part of “my job” to try out as many new products as I can, so that I can then pass along my experience to you ladies!  My artistry is thanks in part to the innovative products I use to create mine and my clients’ looks, and I don’t gatekeep things once I find the ones that truly knock my socks off. So, today I am sharing The Beauty Products Making The Aging Process A Little Easier Right Now.

Luckily, the beauty industry has been paying attention to us over 40+ gals, and there are some impressive products on the market making the process feel less like a battle, and more like self-care!

And as much as I know, we should accept and appreciate the aging faces we are lucky enough to live with, gosh, it just feels better for me personally, to find products that work to make me look more refreshed! Taking the time to put them into action on my face gives me not only a creative outlet but a sense of self-control. And that, my friends, is worth its weight in gold.

I own and stock a lot of products in my home makeup studio, but today I want to share the ones that truly work to make my 47-year-old face feel fresh, radiant, and downright fabulous! These are not complicated makeup routine steps – just downright easy and effective beauty products.

1.  Biodance Collagen Real Deep mask, $19, (4 sheets)

Why it’s a game changer: This super viral popular face mask is so worth the hype. I wear this overnight, which takes a little getting used to the first time, but when you wake up, your skin is literally transformed into a glassy, hydrated, and bouncy surface! Applying this mask and then removing it is an instant confidence booster for me. They should really charge more for these sheet masks in my opinion – but I’m glad they don’t! If you can’t sleep in it, at least wear it for 3-4 hours.

2. Dieux Instant Angel Lipid Rich Facial Moisturizer, $45

Why it’s a game changer: I have very dry skin. As we age, it is typical for the majority of our skin to start drying out. I have followed the Dieux founder, Charlotte Parlor, on Instagram for a while, and she is so wise and innovative on everything skin. I finally took the plunge and bought two of her most popular products. The ratings and reviews are just incredible.

This first one is the Angel moisturizer that gives instant hydration but is quick-to-absorb, leaving my skin radiant and is perfect under makeup – no primer needed. And it’s fragrance-free for those who prefer.

3. Dieux Forever Eye Masks, $25

+ ROC Multi Correxion Eye Balm, $27

Why it’s a game changer: I have always been a big believer in eye patches for dehydrated under eyes. Recently, I bought these reusable masks by Dieux, which I store in my fridge, along with my ROC eye balm, which I’ve talked about before here on my Instagram. I love not having to keep throwing patches away every day, and these fit perfectly under my eyes, are thin, and easy to rinse off and put back in their tin for storage.

Having my morning cup of coffee and wearing my eye patches are two of my fave ways to start the morning and feel alive!

4. Tarte BB Blur Tinted Moisturizer, $42

Why it’s a game changer:
I’ve been wearing this non-foundation a lot this summer so far. This BB cream melts into mature skin, giving light-medium coverage, seriously blurring fine lines, hydrating dry spots, and giving a smooth, barely matte appearance. It’s quick, easy, and leaves your skin looking just better.

And all with SPF 30 for daily protection.  I wear shade “medium” currently, which gives me a bit more warmth for the summer, but will definitely have to go down a shade in the next couple of months.

5. Essence Correct + Conceal Under Eye Brightener, $5

Why it’s a game changer:
This ultra-thin concealer in the shade “light” is actually more of a pale pink shade, and provides me with some sort of lightening “magic” for my undereyes! I have been adding it every day as a color corrector BEFORE I add on any of my other concealers on top of it.

Think of it as a light-boosting pick-me-up that revives tired, dark eyes with just a dot or two. It seems to make all of my concealer formulas work, well, just better. And the price is crazy good!

6. Nars Afterglow Liquid Blush, $32

Why it’s a game changer: I used this blush in a different shade, “Aragon,” in my follow-up to St. Maarten beach post, if you’d like to see it. In this post I switched to shade “Insatiable” – a deep plum. As we age, we lose some – okay a lot – of that natural youthful flush. I’m finding this formula just makes me feel instantly prettier!

This luminous liquid blush is so sheer, it’s almost impossible to screw up, no streaking, when applying. I do use a cream blush brush to make sure it always looks airbrushed. It not only adds a healthy color to cheeks but can also be used as a LIP STAIN as I did here! I apply about 3 sheer coats, rubbed into my bare lips with my finger, until I got the right amount of stain.

And now, during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, two of their most popular shades – Dolce Vita and Orgasm, are offered as a beauty exclusive duo, two full sized liquid blushes for only $44!

7. Tweezerman ProCurl Eyelash Curler, $24

Why it’s a game changer:
Too many women my age and older have just quit using an eyelash curler. Not sure why. It’s the most effective way to open up tiny eyes and to make your mascara work even better to make your lashes appear even longer. And it takes mere seconds to use, so it’s not even like it adds a bunch of time to your routine. Pretty please, if you’re not doing this, get yourself a curler, do this before your mascara, and watch your eyes open up!

8. Buxom Power Line Plumping Lip Liner, $22

Why it’s a game changer:
I have recently been very back into the routine of using lip liner – very 90’s nostalgic. My lips seem to be deflating fast, and a lip liner just helps me to fake that fullness and definition. The artist in me doesn’t mind the art of drawing them back on, and this specific pencil makes it so easy to do and makes it fun!

I am wearing shade “Hi Def Honey” here, along with my Nars lip/cheek stain. It’s a great neutral nude that honestly works with most of my lip shades. It’s an easy twist-up formula (no sharpening needed), with an included brush, that is a game changer in its own right for blurring the lines right into my natural lip.

Before we go, don’t forget the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is still going on, and my post last week was focused on just a handful of the beauty exclusives I think are actually worth taking advantage of. But now there are also a few new products they’ve added, that are ICONIC in beauty that you might should grab before the prices go up…
