can you believe two months have flown by since i hit the gym? and i’m happy to report i feel great! my stamina has increased, muscle tone improved, and my energy level is high throughout the day. if you remember, at the end of august i joined orange theory. this is a strength, endurance, and power workout that rotates through weight training, rowing machine, and treadmill. four times a week i hit my base pace then push pace, empty my tank, and squat, lift and burn my way between 400 – 500 calories. while i still have a long way to go to reach my fitness goals. i know that with two months to my credit i am well on my way.
according to the mayo clinic here are 7 benefits of exercise:
is it easy to get up at 5:00am to start my day with a sweaty workout? no. it. is. not. and i’d be lying if i didn’t admit i’m tempted to hit that snooze button so i can catch a few more zzzz’s. but once i struggle out of bed, slip into my workout gear, and traverse the dark and winding roads of athens i find myself on the treadmill getting it in gear. before i know it, class is over, i’m energized, and ready to tackle my day with a sense of accomplishment. and what’s better than that?
now that i more or less have built up my strength and endurance it’s time to add a weekly yoga class to my regime. did you know yoga improves flexibility and perfects posture? i am soooo looking forward to practicing yoga. i’m excited to once again touch my toes with ease.
at some point, i aim to add a weekly spin class and pilates reformer to my workout regime. my goal is to incorporate a six-day workout – 4x strength, endurance, power and 2x strength and flexibility. but i’m taking a slow and steady approach to fitness. because it takes time to get this body back into shape. and that’s okay. anything worthwhile in life takes time and effort. but for now, i’m happy to make the jump from 4x a week to 5x ’cause i’m ready!
and guess what? there’s some cute workout duds available so i’m stylin’ while i’m sweating. today, i’ve not only included what i wear to yoga, but a few cute outfits to lounge around in when i return home.

you look good sweatin’ to the oldies! ha! xoxo
I love the colors of your workout outfit. Exercise wear is something I have never spent any money on. It’s a shame because I walk 4 miles nearly every day. And shouldn’t I look cute while doing it? Of course I should.
I’d love to join a yoga class but I haven’t been able to find one locally.
I recently added yoga and pound to my workout routine and love both. I find having cute workout gear certainly helps elevate my confidence. Love the colors your chose!
Good for you Beth!! It is so important to keep moving! Yet it’s also so easy to get out of the habit and hard to get back into it.
I love finding classes that are interesting! Although right now, it’s only once a week–but every little bit helps, right?
You are so brave Beth to join Orange Theory!
I tried it for a week and realized I do not want to run or workout at 95% without catching my breathe in between rotations.
But I do enjoy my Body Pump, Zumba, & pilates workouts!!
You go girl!
