Loungewear is the unsung hero of our wardrobes, isn't it? It's the bridge between comfort and style, where you don’t have to sacrifice one for the other. As someone who loves a little elegance in everyday life, I find the right loungewear cozy and chic. Think soft, breathable fabrics that feel like a hug, but with a twist—maybe a sleek silhouette or a thoughtful detail like a button or a pintuck that elevates the whole look. The weather outside might be chilly, but inside, it's all about warmth and comfort—whether you're wrapping yourself in a fuzzy cardigan, slipping into a pair of plush joggers, or curling up in your favorite oversized sweater. So today, I have some inspiration for How to Stay Comfortable and Cozy This Holiday Season.
There's something so special about being able to wear comfy clothes all day, especially when the twinkling lights and holiday magic surround you. It's the little moments like these—where the world feels a little quieter and a little more peaceful—that really make the season feel so comfortable and cozy.

Travel week continues with active outfits that are cute enough for even the most avid couch potato. When traveling it's important to have at least one outfit to lounge around the hotel room or grab a quick cup of coffee. Your schedule might include a hike, long walk, or just exploring the city. And it's always a good idea to stick to our workout routines while we're away from home. Today, let's take a look at 3 vacation activewear outfits that will keep our style at the top of its game.
Last year, I shared Sweaty Betty with you in several posts. Read those posts here and here I discovered this brand at my favorite retailer Nordstrom which always carries the best brands and makes shopping a breeze. Just like last year, I found more than one cute item to add to my shopping cart. As a matter of fact, I found not one but three darling outfits that will be on style repeat all Spring and Summer.
If you're not familiar with Sweaty Betty (don't you just love that name?!) this is an activewear company that’s available at Nordstrom. It's a London based brand that creates “gym to gin” looks. Yep, they think it’s cool to sweat all while making you look and feel amazing. So do I!
Today features 3 Sweaty Betty outfits from Nordstrom
The outfits are shoppable via a text or image widget
First up is this adorable sleeveless jumpsuit available in three colors that's cute enough to run around town in. If you are looking for a comfy and cute outfit this is it! It has a racerback, handy pockets, and jogger hems. If you're not a fan of sleeveless tops then simply add a tee-shirt underneath the jumpsuit.
Add a jean jacket (similar here) and of the moment white platform sneakers and you have an outfit that's perfect to take along on vacation.
Next is an outfit that can take you on an exploring expedition or a long walk. The "IT" color this year is emerald green so these Sweaty Betty cotton shorts are not only cute and comfy but on-trend. These pull-on shorts have a relaxed fit and come in four colors with a matching cropped sweatshirt that's the perfect third layer if the temps are chilly.
This outfit can go from the pickleball court to a nature walk with ease. White platform sneakers Check. White tee. Check.
When it's time to work out why not head to the gym in an outfit that works overtime with moisture wicking fabric. Love the color block details on the workout crop top and the leggings. Plus, there are two pockets on either side of the leggings to tuck away your phone or stash a power bar.
This boxy tank top matches perfectly with the leggings and is a nice alternative to the crop top. FYI my Pilates instructor went ga ga over this ensemble.
A few of my favorite things about Nordstrom.
A big thank you to Nordstrom and ShopStyle Collective for this sponsored post. And thank you, lovely readers, for supporting the brands that allow me to bring you fresh ideas.
It's travel week on the blog. Yesterday, I showed you 3 on-trend vacation outfits. Click the title or image below to read the article.
Happy Monday, ladies! We're heading into some warm weather here in Athens. Sun is out and Spring is fully in bloom. Such a pretty sight to see. As you probably know, we're continuing on travel week today. I'm featuring 3 On-Trend Vacation Outfits I wore during my stay at The Ritz last week.
All 3 outfits are perfect for lunch, brunch, and any shopping expeditions you may have planned. And of course, they all feature a lovely pop of color.
Today's featured items are 2 dresses and a skirt from Banana Republic, Anthropologie, and FARM Rio
All 3 outfits are modeled
All outfits are shoppable via a text or image widget
The first outfit features a popover shirt dress from Banana Republic. The feel is great and it works perfectly as a neutral backdrop for accessories.
I went with the cutest handbag to add color to the outfit. Bamboo handles are in this year. (Honestly, when aren't they?)
Ramie Popover Shirt Dress (Banana Republic) | Bamboo Elisabetta Slouch Handbag (Mark & Graham) | Sandals (old Aqua, similar here and here) | Earrings (old Tory Burch, similar here, here, and here) | Sunglasses (old Prada, similar here)
My second outfit features this tunic dress from Anthropologie. Wear it alone or put it on top of a pair of denim like these frayed jeans from Frame.
Quick vacation style tip: if you're bringing a dress, bring a bottom like leggings or jeans. Two readymade outfits at your disposal.
Maeve Embroidered Tunic Dress (Anthropologie) | Mini Boot Raw Frayed Jeans (Frame) | Caged Raffia Tote Bag (Demellier) | Sandals (old, Banana Republic similar here and here) | Earrings (old, Tory Burch similar here, here, and here)
My final outfit features this printed skirt from FARM Rio. Such a fun outfit and perfect for both Spring & Summer.
I've paired it with a long sleeve, but you could obviously swap it for just about anything: a linen popover or button-down comes to mind. And depending on where the temps are, a short sleeve or sleeveless would work perfectly too.
Also, one more vacay style tip for the road: if you can fit it in your luggage, a tote is a travel essential. The perfect bag for a day at the beach or out and about shopping.
Tee (Ralph Lauren, ) | Our Stamps Linen Midi Skirt (Farm Rio) | Espadrilles (old, Michael Kors similar here and here) | Caged Raffia Tote Bag (Demellier) | Earrings (old Tory Burch, similar here, here, and here) | Hammered Bangles (Nest) | Sunglasses (old Prada, similar here)
Travel week kicked off yesterday. If you missed what I packed for The Ritz, make sure to click the title or image below to read the article.
Every good vacation starts with a packing list. Women notoriously overpack because we don’t want to risk leaving the absolute must-haves at home. Whether you’re packing for a one-night stay or a week-long dream vacation we all need a few travel essentials to see us through.
Travelers are all different. If we’re traveling by plane some of us are happy to pack everything in a carry-on bag while others are happy to check their bags. If we’re traveling by car we might be tempted to bring two or even three suitcases. Is there such a thing as overpacking?!
This past week I packed my suitcase and headed to Lake Oconee for a week-long getaway at the Ritz Carlton. It was part work part play and a whole lot of fun! Today, we’re kicking off travel week and taking a look at all of those hard-working items that get us to our destination in style.
Today features my travel essentials as well as my travel outfit
I've also put together 2 alternative travel outfits
My travel essentials and recommendations are all linked inline in the text of the post. If you have additional questions about what I packed, leave a comment

Carry On Suitcase (13.75 x 10 x 21.75) | Check-in Spinner (20.75 x 12.75 x 30)
A good suitcase is the starting point for any trip. I’ve had my fair share of suitcases through the years but I prefer a hardshell suitcase with spinner wheels. And I love a matching3-piece set.
Most luggage brands sell a variety of sizes but a carry-on that’s sized to fit the overhead compartment of a plane is a must. Samsonite is a tried and true brand and if you don’t mind splurging Tumi is an excellent choice.
Recently I was in the market for new luggage and decided to purchase Delsey luggage which is comparable to Samsonite and has some darn good-looking suitcases to boot.
The Chatelet Collection came home with me and I put it to the test last week with a road trip. Travel Tip: Most luggage sets look similar. To save yourself time at the bag carousel, distinguish yours in some way. Tie a ribbon to the handle or choose a distinctive luggage tag.
Totes come in an assortment of sizes. I love Longchamp Le Pliage Totes and have the 21” expandable tote that comes in handy if I’m on a shopping spree while on vacation and can double as a weekender. Longchamp carries nylon totes, coated canvas totes, leather totes, canvas and leather travel bags, backpacks, and belt bags. The Speedy Neverfull tote or a Goyard are great investments.
If by chance your tote doesn’t have a top zip a tote insert is a practical option.
Packing cubes help you stay organized. They come in different sizes from extra small to large. Use packing cubes to separate lingerie from swimsuits or your tops from your bottoms. Calpak is a durable choice that’s available at Nordstrom but Amazon carries lots and lots of packing cubes for a bargain
A good toiletry bag is a godsend. Hanging toiletry bags are quite popular. I have a monogrammed set from Mark & Graham that includes a cosmetics case and travel pouch
Makeup Case
Stock up on your favorite beauty products that come in mini sizes. That way your cosmetic bag is always ready to throw in your suitcase at a moment’s notice. But great makeup/cosmetics bags are a must. For some reason, I was always forgetting to pack my makeup brushes until I purchased this makeup bag that has a special pouch for brushes. It also has adjustable dividers and a shoulder strap.
Pill Case
Organizing medication, supplements and vitamins have never been easier than with a pill case.
Jewelry Case
Don’t forget to invest in jewelry boxes to stash your jewelry with ease. I travel with a hard case and/or roll-up jewelry pouch. Travel tip:
Skincare Bag
Just like stocking up on beauty products in mini sizes stocking up on travel-size skincare is an excellent way to go. Again, your skincare bag is always ready to toss into your suitcase saving you oodles of time and stress. Colleen Rothschild offers the Discovery Kit with seven essential skincare products that come with a travel bag. For a little extra something, the Exploration Collection has four skincare goodies that will come in handy on your trip. These would make excellent Mother’s Day Gifts.
Keep all of your tech essentials within easy reach with a leather charger rollup. Headphones,
charging cords, etc… need to be accessible while traveling. Am I right?!
Never leave home without a portable charger.
Last week, we kicked off Travel Week with a preview. I showed you what I wore for dinner at The Ritz. Click the title or image below to read the article.

Travel week starts this Sunday, April 24th. Get excited! We’re kicking it off with Travel Essentials, then we’ll share outfit inspiration for brunch, shopping, exploring, and more!
But I thought you might like a sneak peek today. So I’m sharing What to Pack for a Casual Dinner - Resort Style. Dining out on vacation is always a highlight of the trip but sometimes we want to keep our outfits casual but chic.
Do I have an outfit for you! It’s simple, comfy with a dash of bling. What’s better than that! Oh yeah, it’s oh so affordable from one of my favorite brands from Nordstrom called Open Edit. I partner with Nordstrom every month so you might say I’m a regular shopper. And I scour their online site regularly. Some of you might remember I introduced Open Edit last December with a cool pair of brown faux leather pants and a cable knit sweater.
Today's featured item is a pair of wide-leg pants from Nordstrom
The pants are modeled, and I pulled together 2 alternates
The pants are shoppable via a text or image widget
Each alternate is shoppable via a text widget
Today, I’m sharing drawstring wide-leg pants that come in four colors (you might want to snag all of them!) and the cutest pair of slingback flats with crystal embellishment. Wardrobe basics come in handy when it’s time to pack for a trip. A white blouse ( similar here, here, and here) typically makes its way into my suitcase as well as a denim jacket (similar here, here, and here).
Drawstring Wide-Leg Pants | Slingback Flats | White Blouse (similar here, here, and here) | Denim Jacket (similar here, here, and here)
For my next trip in May, I already have my eye on this reversible maxi dress, and who doesn’t love an oversized blazer? Or these linen blend trousers look divine and come in vibrant colors that are so on trend for 2022 with a matching blazer to boot. This ruched mock neck top caught my eye and these Lucca Slides would go with dresses, shorts, or skirts.
Drawstring Wide-Leg Pants | Slingback Flats | White Blouse (similar here, here, and here) | Denim Jacket (similar here, here, and here)
What I love about Nordstrom:
A big thank you to Nordstrom for this sponsored post. And thank you, lovely readers, for supporting the brands that allow me to bring you fresh ideas.

Hello! It’s wonderful you’re here for my inaugural post on Style At A Certain Age! I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to share what I wore during my recent trip to Charleston, South Carolina. Packing for this trip was challenging for me for a couple of reasons: the forecast called for rain and cooler temps; plus, I haven’t done much sightseeing in the last few years which translates to I haven’t been wearing “going out” shoes for extended periods. This all amounted to packing for comfort, style, and possible rainy weather. Fortunately, our hotel was centrally located! So, I wanted to show you some of my best vacation outfits from the trip.
My husband Alex and I chose one of our three nights for a special dinner out. We chose a very highly recommended restaurant called 167 Raw. It’s a wonderful seafood restaurant, with super fresh seafood preparations, raw oysters, and chic cocktails. If you’re in Charleston, I highly recommend you make a stop at 167 Raw.
This ensemble is not a suit per se, as the blazer and the pants are not exact matches. But it works! A black blazer is a wardrobe staple. I get a ton of use out of this blazer; it’s perfect for dressing up a pair of jeans and it works perfectly over a dress or with a skirt.
Parke Blazer | Regent Blazer (similar) | Unstructured Blazer (similar) | Pintuck Camisole (similar) | Shirred Top (alternative) | Drapey Top (similar) | Cameron Slim Crop Pant in 4 Season Stretch | Cameron Pant in Bi-Stretch Cotton (similar) | Vince Camuto Enella Sandal | Vince Camuto Saprenda Sandal (similar) | Nine West Sandals (similar) | TSATSAS Tape Bag | Hobo Waver Wristlet (similar) | Hobo Brave Leather Clutch (similar)
With a classic little black suit, you can get creative with your choice of top. A strappy camisole is a perfect option. Another great option to achieve this look is with a drapey top, tucked in. I went with this top by Frame, from Nordstrom. It’s no longer available, but there is a similar version still available.
Straight-leg cropped pants in a heavenly four-season stretch fabric from J.Crew are a dream to wear. These pants are so versatile. They dress up beautifully, but they also look great with a t-shirt and denim jacket. The straight leg cropped fit is perfect for a petite frame and J.Crew’s Cameron Slim Crop Pant fits true to size.
My favorite shoe to wear with a little black suit is a strappy sandal, with a little bit of a heel. These Vince Camuto heels are super comfortable and easy to walk in for blocks!
For a classic neutral outfit, you can go with almost any color handbag you like. For this special evening out, I decided to go with the quietly elegant black Tape Bag by TSATSAS.
Fortunately, we did end up with a sunny day to stroll around the historic Broad Street neighborhoods of Charleston. You can’t help but be immersed in the history of Charleston and our nation, as you walk the cobblestone streets amongst the 18th and 19th-century architecture.
My favorite places to tour are the cemeteries and graveyards. This has a lot to do with the fact that cemeteries are quiet places; one can contemplate and get lost in imaginations of times long passed. The south has some of the most beautiful cemeteries; the spring flowers add color and the Live Oak trees draped in Spanish Moss really set the tone.
For our self-guided walking tour, we had beautiful sunny skies and warm spring temperatures. It was the perfect day to wear a skirt! Spring is my favorite time of year, especially for fashion. There are so many options with skirts, dresses, shorts, and jeans – you can mix them up with a variety of shirt styles to create fun, colorful, bright looks.
We started in the morning, so I have a denim jacket, which is my favorite go-to light jacket for Spring. I haven’t yet come across an outfit that doesn’t work well with a denim jacket!
Madewell Denim Jacket | Gap Denim Jacket (similar) | J.Crew Factory Button-up | J.Crew Factory Skirt | Quay Aviator Sunglasses (similar) | Whirlpool Aviator Sunglasses (similar) | Kingston Aviator Sunglasses (similar) | Puffy Crisscross Sandals (similar) | Crisscross Slide Sandals (similar) | Similar Olive-Colored Slides (similar) | Sydney Crossbody Bag | Transport Crossbody Bag (similar) | Transport Saddlebag (similar)
Gingham is one of my favorite prints all year long. But somehow as soon as Spring arrives, gingham comes to the forefront of my mind. This olive and white gingham button-up feels especially appropriate for the shoulder seasons, the color is just perfect for Spring.
This linen-cotton pull-on skirt from J.Crew Factory is a no-brainer for me. I have this skirt style in a few colors and this cream-color version is by far my favorite. As a neutral, the cream color will work with nearly every top in my closet. It’s lined and so comfortable – plus it has pockets! You will definitely see this skirt on repeat all Spring and Summer long.
These Vehla Dixie sunglasses are my new favorites. I love the lightweight tortoise frames. I especially love the lightly tinted, sage-colored lenses.
I haven’t walked for miles in closed shoes since the pandemic, so my feet have become more sensitive to shoes (anyone else have this issue?). So I went for an ultra-comfy pair of crisscross sandals.
These olive green sandals are from last summer, but I’ve given you similar styles.
A crossbody or shoulder bag is a must for a day seeing the sights. My favorite, most-used bags are all from Madewell. I absolutely love their leather goods, they make well-priced, quality bags, shoes, and belts that last for ages.
This is the Sydney Crossbody Bag. It has a removable shoulder strap for versatility. Its rounded, structured hobo shape is updated for this year, and its classic styling will be a go-to for years to come.
Those were some of my best vacation outfits from Charleston. If you’re looking for more fashion inspiration, make sure to check out Beth’s 5 ways to wear white sneakers this Spring.
And remember, Thursdays are a two-post day. Make sure to check out the one piece of Spring clothing Beth can’t live without.
Travel week is winding down. I’m heading home for Georgia tomorrow. Last night, I was going through the archives, and I thought I’d do something fun today. I know a lot of you are planning on traveling this year, and I’m sure many of you will be spending time by the pool or the beach. Getting ready for a beach vacation is relatively easy, right? Just pack a swimsuit, and you’re good to go. Not so fast. If you’re spending hours on the beach, then you want to be prepared. There’s nothing worse than settling into your beach chair then remembering you forgot to toss sunscreen into your beach bag or a bottle of water. Don’t worry, I have you covered. Today, I’m putting everything from this week together and sharing how I prepare and my must-have items on my beach vacation packing list.
Before I head to the beach, I use self-tanner for a little summer glow. Yep, the safest tan is a fake one. Ha! it’s easy to apply tanner at home, but you need the right supplies for a flawless tan. the good news is it’s safe and suitable for all skin types. Below are some of my favorite products.
Exfoliating Glove | Self-tanner Mitt | Body Bling | L’Oreal self-tanning mist | Jergens Natural Glow | L’Oreal Self-tanning Towelettes
Shower and exfoliate. If you want to avoid streaky tan lines exfoliating is the most important step. One of my favorite body scrubs is Elemis Frangipani that I apply with an exfoliating glove that leaves my skin smooth and soft.
After I step out of the shower, I apply moisturizer to ankles, feet, knees, elbows, wrists, and palms. These are the key areas that tend to soak up too much self-tanner. Wait ten minutes or until your body is completely dry. This is an important step as your skin needs to be dry to absorb the self-tanner and avoid streaks.
Apply the self-tanner with a mitt. If you skip using a mitt, then your hands tend to turn orange. Plus, the mitt helps apply the tanner evenly and smoothly. Apply the product directly onto the mitt.
Use long even strokes when applying self-tanner, working one section at a time..
Wait twenty minutes before you put your clothes on. This allows the product to settle and avoids staining your clothes.
Moisturize daily to keep your faux tan for as long as possible. Jergens Daily Moisturizer is my go-to moisturizer all summer long.
On Sunday, we ran 5 travel outfit ideas from Spring. Whether you’re driving or flying to your destination, chances are the temps of your origin city are different than your destination one. Head over to the post for ideas on what to wear on your trip.
On Monday, I gave you a glimpse of my travel capsule wardrobe. Head over to the post to see the 6 outfits I took with me to Mexico.
Yesterday, I posted pictures from Mexico. I also shared with you 3 swimsuits and cover-ups I took with me. In case you missed it, take a look at the post for great 2022 swimsuit ideas.
Alright, now for my beach vacation packing list. It includes:
For each item, I put together a shoppable widget to help you as you prepare for your vacation.

Whether you’re on team one-piece or two, one thing is for certain swimsuit season has arrived. So pick a suit any suit and go enjoy the beach, lake, or pool. This week, I gathered a few swimsuits for my beach getaway in Cancún, Mexico. It’s been a little slice of heaven this week with blue skies and even bluer ocean and a white sandy beach to dip my toes into. What’s in my beach bag? I’m spilling the beans today with a little help from my favorite retailer Nordstrom which makes one-stop shopping a breeze. Here are 3 women’s bathing suits for 2022 that I’m loving.
First things first, sunscreen is a must when I head outdoors, and Goop PLAY is a favorite of mine for long-wearing protection and reef-safe ingredients. But let’s not forget our lips need protection too. Enter fresh Sugar Lip Balm with SPF 15 that keeps my lips hydrated. And while we’re talking about protection from the sun, let’s not forget the importance a hat plays in keeping our face shielded from the harmful UV rays. It’s a non-negotiable in my book, as well as a pair of sunglasses that shields my baby blues from the sun.
La Blanca has been a favorite swim brand of mine for years. This black one-shoulder suit didn’t disappoint! It’s lined with molded cups, flattering ruched shirring, and built-in tummy control. The swimsuit also comes in indigo. Since we’re talking swimwear, let’s not forget to add a slouchy hooded coverup which is a must-have item to swish through any hotel lobby. It’s from La Blanca and comes in black or blue and could easily pull double duty as a light and airy tunic.

I’m loving this Grecian-style two-piece from Norma Kamali. It’s definitely made for a day at the pool sipping piña coladas but isn’t that what vacay is for? White leather sandals from Tory Burch are the perfect addition, as well as all of my sun accessories.

If you want to put a little FUN into your swimwear, then look no further than Trina Turk. Her swimsuit prints are always colorful and pack a punch. This one-piece is a year old, but I loved this one or this one.

Happy Sunday, ladies. We’ve got a fun one for you today. After two years, I’m taking my first real vacation. I’m heading to Mexico this week for a few days at the beach. And I’m excited. Travel posts used to be fairly common things over here at the blog. But due to obvious reasons, we haven’t had an opportunity to do one in a really long time. But with things opening back up, I imagine some of you have already booked trips for the year. Whether you’re traveling regionally, heading cross country, or flying out of the country, I’ve got 5 travel outfit ideas to help you pack.
In a lot of ways, today’s post is a companion piece to last week’s Spring jacket roundup. Each of my five travel outfits features one of the coats from that post:
So in addition to the 5 shoppable outfits I’ve pulled together, I’ve also reposted some pictures and widgets for each jacket type. So whether you’re traveling or not, there’s something for you.
The first outfit is a monochromatic pairing of black pants from Nordstrom and an oversized sweater from Banana. My trench is classic khaki, keeping with the neutral base of the outfit. Keeping in mind that animal print functions as a neutral, my scarf adds visual interest and takes an otherwise subdued outfit over the top.
pants | sweater | similar trench | scarf | sneakers
My second outfit pairs a mock neck shift dress from Ann Taylor and a denim jacket. Couldn’t be simpler while still maintaining that classic style. I’m loving espadrilles this Spring. They’re comfy in all the right ways, especially when I’m on my feet at the airport. And I couldn’t not have a little fun on my way to Mexico: this hat just says, “I’m on vacation”.
dress | similar denim jacket | similar hat | similar espadrilles
The next outfit is just as simple as the first two. (Detecting a theme, here?) I’ve pulled together a pair of jeans mid-rise taper jeans from Ann Taylor and a tan sweater. The moto jacket takes center stage here but is softened considerably by my sneakers.
denim | similar sweater | similar leather jacket | sneakers
Layers, layers, layers. The key to traveling is packing layers. Temperature changes from your departure and destination cities are common. And if you have an early (or late) flight, you’re going to want to be able to reach for a jacket.
Our fourth outfit layers Miller Dickey blazer and Slate dickey, both from Veronica Beard, on top of a linen sweater from Banana Republic. Paired with a comfy ankle pant, this outfit proves you can maintain classic style while staying comfortable on a long flight or car ride.
similar Brooklyn pant| sweater | Miller Dickey blazer | Slate dickey | sneakers
The most casual of the 5 outfits, our last travel idea combines a windbreaker and joggers. For better (or worse), gone are the days of “dressing up” to get on a plane. But that doesn’t mean that casual can’t look put together and stylish.
joggers | tee | similar windbreaker | sneakers
