Makes 4 Danishes
Ingredients
1 Sheet Puff Pastry, thawed but very cold
4 Slices Swiss Cheese
4 Sliced Deli Ham
4 tbsp. Apricot Preserves, divided
Egg Wash (one egg yolk beaten with a teaspoon of water)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400º F. On a sheet of parchment, roll out the puff pastry dough to about 12”x12”. Make two cuts to create 4 rectangles of the dough. Then slide the parchment onto a baking sheet.
Lay one slice of cheese on each rectangle of dough. Top the cheese with a folded slice of deli ham – lay the ham diagonally. Spread one tablespoon of apricot preserves over the ham slices.
Close up the danish by folding one side of the dough over the center, then fold the other side over the top. Brush with egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes, until the dough is puffed and golden brown.
