summer is for ice cream. or if you listen to my husband’s sage advice, ice cream is perfectly fine any time of day, week, month or year. my dad was of the same opinion. which is why two flavors are always sitting on our freezer shelves. vanilla happens to be my husband’s favorite flavor and is the must-have ingredient for a root beer or coke float. one of the best summertime treats as you lounge on your patio. when i was pregnant with my first many moons ago we would pile our two old english sheepdogs into the car and head to our local baskins robbins for a double-scoop. since a child i always picked the same two flavors, peppermint and mint (i’ve since branched out – somewhat. can i help it if know what i like and stick to it?). even my ice cream had one of my favorite color combo’s – pink and green. every time we stopped in at 21 flavors, we always bought a scoop of vanilla for our pups who thoroughly enjoyed the treat down to the last lick. times have changed and with it information on what’s healthy and, better yet, not for our pets. oscar did not partake of ice cream on this hot day, but rather a scoop of peanut butter yogurt that’s on the acceptable list for pups. as you can see from the photos he was pretty much in heaven. isn’t summer grand? have you noticed my sandals yet? who remembers these beauties from years gone by? the summer i graduated from high school, dr. scholl’s and i were never far apart. i had three colors that i sported non-stop on my daily pool run. am i ever glad to see them again! j.crew has resurrected them from the archives and given them a fresh coat of paint. if you are looking for comfort and cuteness combined into one, look no further. don’t you love how their cool summer vibe give this ootd the casual chic look it needs? a pair of preppy chino shorts, blue silk blouse, and i’m set for a day.
oscar and i wish each of you a lovely weekend! thanks so much for tuning in.

Oscar is sure enjoying his ice cream! If you have Kroger near you, check out Alden’s Organic Ice Cream. They have a Chocolate-Chocolate Chip that is fabulous and I’m partial to the Salted Caramel. It is in the organic freezer case. xoxo
Oscar is so cute here! Best pic ever
