dinner party prep
what? it’s friday? already? on one hand i’m soooo happy the week has come to an end. but on the other hand where the heck is this year disappearing to? let alone this week? it’s funny but the blog keeps my inner clock running and i’m hyper aware when monday and friday roll around. thankfully, oscar is blissfully unaware of the week zipping by and is in his groove ready for his weekly gig. in fact, he’s helping, errr, watching me, prep for a dinner party this weekend. well, he did escort me to the herb garden to snip a few basil leaves for the bruschetta. a yummy appetizer which i’ll happily share at the end of the post.
summer is stubbornly holding fast here in georgia. but i’m keeping my color palette in the autumn zone. a silk shirt similar here and here works 365 days out of the year as do chinos. everlane is an affordable brand with a modern take on classics that’s now available at nordstrom. who can resist a leopard belt? or ballet flats by kate spade for that matter. didn’t i tell you i was clinging to fall-like hues?
the tablescape is getting it’s autumn game on too with a cranberry and khaki tablecloth by ralph lauren. pumpkins are in abundance this time of year but i couldn’t resist the variety that can go into storage once halloween has come and gone.
the bar cart is set and ready to roll. and i have to admit the best part of living in georgia is entertaining outside nine months out of the year.
bruschetta anyone? you better hurry as oscar has one eye on this yummy dish.
TGIF gang! but before we go, oscar and i wish each of you a lovely weekend.
p.s. here’s a video with a few of my old-school entertaining tips.
