In a large bowl, toss together cheese and flour until well coated, and set aside.
In a large saucepan, bring wine and garlic to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium-low and add ½ cup of cheese mixture, stirring constantly until melted. Add remaining cheese mixture ½ cup at a time, stirring constantly until each addition is melted and the cheese mixture is smooth, about 8 minutes.
Reduce heat to low and stir in the brandy, lemon juice, and nutmeg until combined. Keep warm over low heat, or transfer to a heated fondue pot. Garnish with pepper and serve immediately with cubed sausage, bread, apples, and grapes.
