Absolutely enjoy this blog each and every day, it inspires my fashion sense again and I thank you. I have a question about a statement gold and pearl necklace you wore with a grey sweater, where did you get that, I love it

    • Beth Djalali says:

i think you’re referring to a recent post where i sported fresh water pearls with a grey sweater. the necklace came from Vienna, Austria mr. style’s hometown. xo

  2. Janice Jernberg says:

Beth, do you apply mascara to the bottom lashes? I just recently read of someone who had stopped applying mascara to the bottom to reduce any additional darkness since our skin under our eyes seems to get darker. (I’m politely trying to describe the darker bags that seem to appear as we age).
Thank you. I enjoy your blog.

  3. Christine says:

Hi Beth … this is really a fun Friday post !
The recipe is a must try . “Old Bay” is a Maryland staple . I’ll have to have dinner company soon . Cooking for one has not been easy , especially since I loved creating meals for my husband . Not to mention having a dining partner every night . How do you manage that ?
The movie wrap makes me want to revisit
those old films . I can also think of a few more .
I’m always on the search for a perfect and long lasting , thickening ,lengthening mascara . I agree with your thoughts on “waterproof” mascara …I am not a fan .
I will keep your list as I’ve not tried any of your 5 choices .
I’ve used Chanel ( expensive ) , but I’ve loved it . I’ve found L’Oreal to be a bit more budget friendly and that is in my makeup case now . Have you tried these ?
Thank you again for the fun and enjoy your weekend .

    • Beth Djalali says:

      hi christine!
for meals on my own i tend to shop at Trader Joe’s for a delicious and healthy meal for one. when my family joins me for dinner then it’s time to dish up a healthy recipe that feeds a crowd. L’Oreal always has something on hand that’s not only affordable but good! xo

  4. Gail says:

    What is a “tissue” turtleneck?

  5. Anne Rowe says:

Safe travels Beth. Have a wonderful well earned and necessary break.

  6. Cheryll R Sampson says:

Love a good low country boil, and this looks wonderful and easy. Love the outfit with the suede booties. And Breakfast at Tiffany’s is wonderful, too. I think, however, for what it’s worth, my all-time favorite is “Dr. Zhivago.”

    • Beth Djalali says:

thanks so much, anne! jr. style and i had so much fun on our Seine river cruise. although i have to admit i missed mr. style more than ever. he would have had a ball! xo

  7. Susan says:

Beth recipe looks delish, from Maryland so Old Bay is a staple in my spice cabinet!
Have done a riverboat through France’s wine, country, can’t wait for you post next week! Absolutely the best way to travel!

  8. Judith says:

    Love the animals….

  9. Suzanne M Smith says:

We’ve done the shrimp//crab veggie boils at the beach, and then pour all the goodies out onto a newspaper-laden picnic table and serve it all with lemon butter and herbs to smear over it all. So yummy. I boil ours in beer and Old Bay and put the shrimp and crab in at the last few minutes. I’ll have to try roasting it like this. So good. And Breakfast at Tiffany’s–another gem. Good list! Have a great weekend–I enjoyed your trip to France posts–I did a similar one some time ago, from Paris, all through the Loire valley, then to Normandy and Mt St Michelle, and through Provence. Never made it to Giverny, which I’ve always wanted to see, so I’ll look forward to seeing your memories of it all. Safe home!

    • Beth Djalali says:

i am totally trying your version of a shrimp/veggie boil! i love the thought of spreading the feast on a newspaper-laden picnic table. thanks for the inspiration! xo

  10. Stephani Tyler says:

    Hi Beth…
The above pictures of you and Oscar are simply precious…Aren’t animals such a blessing?

  11. diane says:

turtlenecks, hoodies… here in SoCal it is 100 degrees and 6% humidity

  12. R. Dawson says:

Everything looks and sounds wonderful. Your “hoodie” seems more like a cowel. I often don’t like the bulk of a hoodie so avoid them. But your outfit looks so cute and cozy.

  13. Cathy says:

My same favorites too! I have added a couple The Holiday and the Wedding Date. Love the hoodie, it’s a great color!

  14. Suzy says:

Well I thought for sure your #1 would be Roman Holiday. Right actress, different movie. LOL!

Loved your countdown and, of course, your impeccable style!

  15. Suzanne says:

    👍👍

  16. Cheryl Howard says:

Hi Beth! I recently joined your blog and am very impressed with the work that you and your team do to provide us with such wonderful inspiration! I live on Vancouver Island in Canada and had a hard time finding Old Bay Seasoning. Recently I went back to Niagara Falls for a Fall visit with my Mum. At her local butcher shop I found a tin of Old Bay! So I will definitely try making the sheet pan dinner. Thanks again Beth ~ you are a treasure! Oscar and Ollie Too 😉

  17. Elizabeth says:

You are so beautiful, Beth! This is a delightful post. We love low country boil and a Dark and Stormy sounds like the perfect pairing. I have those ingredients on my bar right now, so I think we’ll try it tomorrow! I’m not sure if I’ve commented to say how very sorry I am that you lost your husband. I admire your courage and hope your family and friends are a great comfort during the holidays and always. I enjoy your blog very much. Much love to you.
