    Great post, Beth.
Those of us who are blessed with an income right now ( thank God for retirement benefits!) need to be mindful of those who are struggling.
We’ve also been doing takeout from our local favorites.
I got an email today from my hair salon, with the following link. Aveda salons are doing a fundraiser to help their stylists who are currently unemployed. If you feel it’s ok and not conflicting with any of your sponsorships, please pass it along to your readers. Half of the proceeds will go to a fund to benefit Aveda salon employees.
    Happy Friday!

Beth thank you for the reminder, I will order dinner from a local restaurant tonight! We have to help them in these dark days! I am praying there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel. We need to still practice mitigation, wear our masks and gloves and get on with our lives. This is our new normal. Thank you, you are a bright spot in our quarantine, I
Have purchased some new Spring items on line, there are great sales. We need to support our retailers as well. Have a great weekend, stay healthy!

    • Beth Djalali says:

not only do we need to support our small businesses, but retailers too from every niche. we have to keep this economy going during the tough times. thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. xo

Please share the names of places you like to order for pick up and the suggestions for choice of food….
We all have different taste but I would love to know some of the food choices you find tasty.

here in Athens i love The National, Lindsey’s, DePalma’s,
five&Ten (but I don’t think they are available for takeout), SeaBear Oyster Bar (oysters are SO good for your immune system), Five, and Heirloom to name a few. xo

We’ve been getting takeout pizza on Fridays from a new local restaurant who had the misfortune of opening the weekend before the Stay at Home order. We hope it makes it thru!

What a beautiful surprise. I love tropical colors in the summer but I’m usually shy about wearing them. You have inspired me with that beautiful blouse. Oscar is one of the prettiest dogs and I think he knows he’s a star. : )
My husband is the chef in the family so he will love this bone broth recipe.

    • Beth Djalali says:

Neiman Marcus Cafe always serves bone broth and popovers as the first course. it’s delicious and nutritious and so easy to make at home. bon appetite! xo

Good reminders today, Beth! We are ordering from some of our favorite locally owned cafes twice a week….Wednesdays we do a more casual fare and on Saturdays we do a “date night” type of nicer dinner. It’s been fun! On Saturdays we set a nice table, have some good wine and dress for the occasion and then we usually watch a movie. Helps us to feel a little more “normal” during this time. As for immune boosting ideas, I am a firm believer in Juice+. I’ve been taking it for years….two fruit capsules and two veggie capsules a day. All organically grown, dried and powdered. Thanks for all of your pertinent topics these days and as always, your great fashion ideas and OOTD!!

awwww, i’m so happy to hear you are making Saturday night a special night. just ‘cuz we’re stuck at home doesn’t mean we have to throw civility out the window. thanks for sharing how you stay healthy. so keep on keeping on. xo

  8. Pam says:

    Beth,
Happy Friday to you, Oscar, Ollie and your entire family. Your posts are so wonderful and seeing you each day is one of the few things that seems a bit like “normal”. I appreciated your suggestion. I am heading out to pick up my grocery order and added lunch for us from a nearby favorite local restaurant. I also love the bright colored clothing. So cheerful and already “in season” for Arizona. Wishing you all the very best.
    Pam

    • Beth Djalali says:

thanks so much for stopping by, Pam! I’m certain lunch was delicious. and it’s nice not to cook from time to time even though i love to whip something up in the kitchen. take care. xo

Thank you for this today. Always nice to hear those words, too-when this lifts. You can feel sometimes-will that time come. My daughter flew from Hawaii to get home, Japan, beg. of April. She was self-quarantined in a hotel for 2 weeks. Now at home but we are still wearing masks, disinfectant spray galore. Stay far away from each other. Don’t go in her bedroom. Laundry-wear mask! etc. God is helping though. Thanks again, Beth

    • Beth Djalali says:

i am so happy to hear your daughter made it home safe and sound. God Bless all of those on the front lines that make things like this happen. take care. xo

Great idea to order takeout. We’ve gone for a number of years on a weekday and a weekend day to a locally owned restaurant, and we typically do brunch there. The food is delicious and it’s farm-to-table good, and we want to support them as long as we can, so we are continuing to order from them during these times. We also leave tips for the wait staff, all of whom we’re on a first-name basis with. We know them all–they’re like family to us. Hey–we have to help out family! I love the spring colors–it’s been beautiful weather here and my walks are my daily therapy and medicine. I always save ends of meats, bones, celery stalks, onions, any leftover bits of veggies, etc in a big container in the freezer, and then I make broths for soups with it. I also make bone broth often, although I love that you’re adding wine to it! I haven’t done that before! Excellent! I also use it as a base for many good sauces and soups. And I do take probiotics and also eat kimchi and sauerkrauts, which are great for us and help strengthen the gut, which is where much of the immune system is. I’m a firm believer that “real” food is medicine, (but if you fix it well, it tastes great, too.) Happy Weekend! I look forward to Kelly’s Saturday post. Stay safe, all.

the staff at our favorite restaurants are like family especially if we frequent them weekly! Mr. style and i always had a warm welcome from two restaurants in particular. but it’s so important to keep supporting them during these difficult days. i know you’re doing your part, girlfriend. stay healthy! xo
