  2. I love some of these different silhouettes, Beth!! It makes it way more fun to change it up. In fact, my mom (the 70+ model on my blog) just got some denim culottes that are wide like this!! I think they are fabulous!!

    Love those 70s wide legs!

  4. Pamela Marconi says:

You look stunning! Being 60 and a 70’s gal I love the look. It’s classic in my opinion. Never goes out of style. The length of the pants are perfect. It elongates your legs and slims you. These cropped ankle pants make us look shorter and wider in my opinion that you get today. Switch out the belt with scarves, or macrame belts with long tassels and beads .. the neru (mandarin) collared shirts always look nice on anyone … yeah the 70’s look is a good look in my humble opinion … again you look really nice. I’ve been following you now for about a month or more and you have helped me pull together some nice looks … thank you!

  5. Super as usual Beth. I have to ask, is that belt from Agatha Paris ? I cannot take my eyes off it !

  6. Cindy L says:

I love the ’70s flared jeans on you — so flattering! In fact, I have been wearing this cut lately, too, and find the look to be more balanced, and more flattering, and more comfortable — and what a nice change from the skinnies we’ve all been wearing lately, which can feel like wearing a girdle on the legs. In fact, I totally agree with Pamela’s comment below, so I am very happy this flared pant leg is back. And Beth, your haircut looks fabulous! You’re tempting me to trim my bob a few inches!

hi cindy! i’m so very happy to see wider leg pants are sticking around. they are universally flattering. what else can we say? comfort and style? that’s a win/win in my book.

I love your mixture of femininity, with the soft, billowy blouse and the jeans with the great cut and large front square pockets .The gold in the belt, shoes and balls in the jewelry add lux with a fun twist with a sense of humor with the puppy buckle…All tans and blues, too..one of my favorite color combos. So cute!

    • beth djalali says:

i always like the balance of feminine with masculine! it just works! this belt is one of my favorites that doesn’t see half as much action as it used to since some of the crystals are disappearing one-by-one from years of use.

Oh, I am totally good with wide-leg pants–we’ve had a number of seasons with the thin pant legs, and while I’m not ready to give them all up yet, I like having all the options for variety’s sake. They’re very elongating, too. I was totally a ’70’s gal, and would welcome updated versions of some of those looks from that era. Pretty!

    • beth djalali says:

i think wide-legs are sticking around for awhile, sue. and i’m happy to see that happen as you suggested ‘for variety’s sake.’
i do think the 70’s was one of the best fashion decades ever. aren’t we lucky to have experienced it first hand?!
