The islands have been well loved by everyone fortunate enough to visit!! Some love to island hop, yet others enjoy the relaxation of staying on one island at a time.
Each of the islands is food for the mind, spirit and soul for sure! Hawaiian cuisine with ocean views and relaxed atmosphere is one of life’s great pleasures.

Artist Georgia O’Keeffe fell in love with Hawaii’s Frangipani, bougainvillea, heliconia, hibiscus, bird of paradise, ginger, and other tropical flowers while working on an advertising campaign for Dole Pineapple Company in 1939. Her 20 rarely seen paintings were exhibited at New York’s Botanical Gardens in 2018, one of the few venues of these works outside of Hawaii. Beauties…all!! The Hibiscus is the state flower of Hawaii, our 50th!
Beautiful Hawaiian tropical flowers and their scents have been inspiration for our homes and gardens from many artists: Hibiscus Dinnerware by Wedgwood, Vietri for glass vase and bowl collections, Swarovski crystals, and Aerin, Bulgari, Nest for scent with Kiehl's and Chantecaille for beauty! Textiles abound from Tommy Bahama, Hilfiger and Trina Turk too!

Plumeria and Frangipani are also well-loved tropical multicolored blooms with beautiful fragrances. Hawaiian Leis are often made with them, greeting guests at her airports, and used abundantly for weddings and happy, celebratory occasions. Leis are symbols of love, friendship, and celebration meaning Aloha.
The famed Plumeria Beach House restaurant at the gorgeous Kahala Resort has entertained many international dignitaries and Hollywood stars over the years!
Hawaiian Holidays are especially beautiful and charming with trees decked out in local blooms and often poinsettias shaped trees! For many, it is an annual tradition and pilgrimage.
The cuisine of Hawaii is exceptionally healthy, colorful and beautiful. Fresh fruits and juices, create festive drinks. The seafood is mostly from local farms and fisherman. The entire experience is relaxed and pleasurably visual too. Roy’s is always a favorite! Collecting cookbooks - always fun, especially when the restaurant and vacation hold such fond memories.

Until next week…extend your “endless summer” with a fragrant spritz of a Hawaiian blossom scent, maybe a Chi – Chi or exotic drink in hand, garnished with a luscious hibiscus or plumeria! Enjoy!!
