Well since you’re talking about throwing away fashion rules … I have a question.

I avoid ankle length pants and crops because I have thicker calves and ankles. What’s your opinion on wearing those types of pants with that body type issue?

Appreciate your advice! And love all your posts!

gd~ I would encourage you to try a pair of ankle and crops! I think you will find them flattering ~ try Sloan pant by Banana Republic or their Avery. My calves are “athletic” and I LOVE the ankle length and crop. Pair with a mid heel if you can or even a flat but avoid anything with strap around ankle… you probably already know this. So, I say YES YOU CAN! ☺️

i always advise to try on every style. what can it hurt? when you stand in front of the dressing room mirror you always know if something looks good on you or not. go with your gut instinct it’s typically right.

I’m a big Boden fan. The neckline is very “Audrey” inspired–they almost always carry something with that neckline. Very nice. Cute look!

Your whole look seems very Audrey Hepburn like🌷

Beth, I love your advice about color!! I’ve been suffering from “color analysis paralysis”, as I’ve been told so many different “seasons”, “tones”, and “types”, I don’t actually know what to do when it comes to selecting clothing and makeup, etc… I like your words and the freedom you inspire to just wear what appeals to you at the moment!! 🙂 Thanks for all of your great posts!!

hi sheri! thanks so much for stopping by. i love how your phrased ‘analysis paralysis’! too cute. while having a ‘color’ analysis is a good thing it shouldn’t keep you in a box. and i always say if it doesn’t look good next to your face wear on the bottom or break up the color with a scarf. there’s always a solution.
