sometimes simple is all you need when it comes to putting an outfit together. that’s why it’s important to keep a few wardrobe basics on hand.  black pants – check. black sweater – check. black shoes – check. if you’re short on time or imagination on any given day these closet staples will get you out the door looking chic and put together. somedays, the wheel doesn’t need to be reinvented. sometimes the fastest route to a stylish outfit is monochromatic.

don’t despair if you’d like to add a little extra oomph to your ootd. that’s when a favorite print or pattern comes into play. and who doesn’t love leopard print these days? it has all but become a closet staple for so many of us. and guess what? it looks fabulous with head-to-toe black. or red. or brown. well, you get the picture. leopard print works as a neutral. that is, according to style maven jenna lyons.

add a chunky pearl necklace similar here and a bold lip (on fire red) for a little drama and i’m out the door in under ten minutes. how’s that for easy?

Effortless Chic! I’m also a big fan of collarless jackets–I have a number of them, and it’s fun to accessorize them with jewelry or scarves without feeling suffocated by all the stuff goin’ on at the neck when there’s a collar. That jacket’s perfect with this.
