labor day weekend has arrived ladies! there’s nothing pressing on our schedule, so i look forward to being a bum along with my trusty companion, and mr. style, of course. even the weather forecast appears to be promising. so i’m pulling out my sweats that go perfectly with my laid-back ‘tude.

rain is in the forecast for today, but then it’s smooth sailing the rest of the weekend with sunshine overhead. but i would be remiss if i didn’t mention the horrendous deluge houston, tx had faced this past week when hurricane harvey passed though. houston is one of our old stomping grounds, and it’s my understanding our old neighborhood, green trails, has been hit hard. having lived through a category 5 typhoon and witnessing firsthand the destruction one storm can deliver i understand how devastated they feel individually and as a community. it will take time and effort to put them back together. but they’ll need love and support not only today but in the weeks and months that follow.
here is the contact information for the American Red Cross. every little bit helps in the effort to rebuild lives and a city that’s been given a one-two punch by harvey. i wanted to share the links with you today and most likely will share them again in the coming weeks as houston is on my heart and i’m certain yours. i’ve always believed the American Red Cross to be a reputable organization that’s helped so many throughout the years.
while oscar and i are bums this weekend and enjoying a carefree life, i’m reminded there are so many who don’t have a home to come home to. take heart houston and know you are loved and not alone. keep your head up and place one foot in front of the other. sometimes, that’s all you can do. but take it from one who has walked in your shoes – this too shall pass.
for those of us lucky enough to have a safe and dry home, oscar and i wish each of you a lovely weekend! take care. and houston know there’s one girl in georgia who’s thinking of you.

Nice, relaxed look. I’m glad you can chill this weekend! I found a link that had some good ideas for helping our Texan friends, and thought I’d share it as well. Hope that’s ok. If you’re not comfortable with it, please feel free to remove it. https://www.texasmonthly.com/the-daily-post/ways-can-help-people-hurricane-harvey/
i’m so happy you shared the link, sue! now we just have to wait and see what happens with irma. this hurricane season os off to an ominous start…
