November – Healing and Strength! Welcome, Golden November!
Golden Topaz and yellow Citrine gemstones symbolize healing and strength for November babies!! How lovely for a month of gratitude and thanks to all of us!! Certainly, we could enjoy a little “golden” joy… November baby or not!!
This year we are all healing and growing stronger by the day…from the changes experienced these past 2 years.
November’s birth flower chrysanthemums – “Mums” mean friendship, honesty, and loyalty. It’s believed having them in your home brings joy and good luck!! They are native to East Asia and northeastern Europe – and widely available in many colors for all of us to enjoy! So, November is more than perfect for our traditional celebration of Thanksgiving, maybe with a centerpiece of Chrysanthemums!!
How are you and yours planning to celebrate this special holiday season and end to 2021?? Visiting? Baking?
Arranging long overdue celebrations of Engagements, Weddings, Thanksgiving, Hannukah, or Christmas?? Are you hosting special guests, meals, or needing to take a meaningful “Host” gift?? Today, it seems we can order just about anything…Holiday Trees, Turkeys, and Dinner included. Some items have longer lead times, especially with this year’s supply disruption. Selections will dwindle. It is not too early – it is November!!
Preparation of all kinds can be a bit overwhelming, so please breathe deeply and create joy along the way! Remember, self-care is good for you and all of those you encounter! Hopefully, a little early prep will make these final weeks and months of 2021 more beautiful and joyous.
For the “all-important table,” whether for cocktails, buffet, or sit-down dinner, for 2 or 20, you might want to
research and “shop in your closets.” See what you will need or wish to refresh for this year’s events! Would you love new cocktail napkins, coasters to protect or add whimsy, new dinnerware, champagne flutes??
Is it time to add new salad dessert plates or monogram-colored napkins to enliven and personalize place settings? If you have classic dinnerware (the Little Black Dress of the table) that you often use for holidays, consider simple salad/dessert additions to update and spark an entirely different ambiance! Think of your Gold, Silver rim, or plain dinner plates with a patterned salad: a graphic Leopard or golden floral? What fun!!
Having a personal gift at each place setting is also thoughtful and memorable. We will devote more time to the table in the coming weeks. However, your need to add – shop – consider enlivening elements is NOW.
Personal shoppers are fabulous…and can make the process a joint, joyous effort. We contribute appropriate ideas within budget, creating festive timesaving opportunities to take care of everyone on your list…even you! Trust shared, time saved, and enjoyed!
Preparing guest rooms, party plans, and festive attire is all meant to be FUN! Let’s get ideas now and whittle away, a little at a time!
Our visiting relatives or friends also deserve comfort and special attention. Your guest room may need some extra love these days…maybe a new pillow, throw, or a total bedding refresh?? This extra room or nook may have become a “work from home” office and needs a little or a lot of TLC now with a Holiday tree, scented candle, bedside stationery, pens, and books. Pretend you are the guest…what would you enjoy in the room…maybe a little treat on your pillow? Maybe a bite of Godiva, a spritz of a favorite scent, or dab of enriching crème from Jo Malone’s collection? A Christmas Cracker, perhaps?! These are wonderful gifts under the tree and at the table too!!
Hopefully, my little post will spark some more creative ideas for you and those dear…from simple gestures of
holiday cards to extravagant luxuries. Smile and be inspired to give with meaning. Everyone has different “means.” It is the love and thought that is special and remembered!
Till next week…Happy Golden November!
Happy preparing…happy shopping!! Have fun…and breathe! xoxo MMK
