today’s post is short and sweet as mr. style and i just returned from florida. and a nasty cold decided to come home with us. actually, the cold tagged along on our trip and i was under the weather the entire weekend. ugh! my schedule is hectic this week, and the last thing i need is the sniffles. so i’ll throw this post up lickety-split and try to get some rest. let’s see if we can’t nip this cold in the bud.
but i finally received my flawless twill pants from Lemon Way. they were perfect for the warm temps of sunny florida. and i wanted to share how they look and fit which is polished yet comfy. these are pull-on pants with an elastic waistband. typically, i steer clear of pull on pants in favor of a waistband that gives definition. so i was a little hesitant when i first saw these pants. but the waistband is flat and smooth – no bunching – which i liked. a belt would look fabulous popped over the top. but guess who forgot to bring one with her?
the pant has a slim straight leg that comes in three inseams – petite 25″, average 28″ and tall 31″. i read several reviews that complained about the pockets gaping. but i didn’t find that to be true. and wondered if they might have been wearing the wrong size. too tight of a fit will pull your pants in all sorts of directions. here’s a style tip: sew your pockets closed if you prefer a slimmer fit.
another style tip is when wearing a bold print ground the outfit with neutrals. this gives balance to your ootd and keeps the print from becoming too loud.
while i was in florida, i had the pleasure of working with Nikol Johnson. if you don’t know Nikol, please go check her YouTube channel, Instagram or blog. you won’t be sorry. this amazing woman is a former model turned aesthetician and knows a thing or two about skincare and makeup. Nikol owns Fresh Beauty Studio located in Fort Lauderdale where we filmed a beauty segment geared for the sixty-something woman. it was loads of fun!
