today it’s all about getting out the door in no time flat. some days are jampacked with appointments, errands, grocery store runs, or anything else that ticks off one more item from your to-do list. you know, all those glamorous things day-to-day living brings your way. unless getting your teeth cleaned is your idea of fun. ha! even though i love my dentist, i hate going to his office. but i digress. on those busy, dare i say exciting, days you need to be up and at ’em by eight o’clock a.m. and might not return home until well after five p.m.. so how do you look ‘put together’ with the least amount of effort? and look great all day long without looking sloppy? that’s when i reach for and wear timeless classics. these are the wardrobe staples that easily transition from outfit to outfit. but can be worn all by their lonesome. and i always have the basics on hand so it’s a no-brainer to get ready and out the door in a jiffy.

today’s post is titled how to wear timeless classics. and it starts with a basic cashmere crewneck in a basic color – gray. this year i am loving Everlane cashmere sweaters. the price point is great as is the quality. and i like the slim fit that isn’t snug. the sweater is paired with a stretch high rise cigarette jean from Everlane. this straight leg jean features a hidden button fly and smoothing front pockets. it’s also made of an innovative fabric that has stretch yet has an authentic denim look. this is my first time wearing these high rise jeans. the fabric has some give but doesn’t end up looking saggy and baggy by the end of the day. typically, i wear size 8 or 29, but i sized up to a 30 for these jeans.
