anyone remember the movie Nine to Five starring lily tomlin, dolly parton, and jane fonda? if it’s playing on the movie channel, i’ll always stop and watch. all three ladies give outstanding comedic performances. one of my favorite scenes is jane learning how to operate the copy machine and paper flying all over the room. who hasn’t struggled to learn a new skill and failed miserably? today, i have to program a new iphone… sometimes simple tasks throw me for a loop, and it takes me twice as long to hit the finish line. wish me luck!
but if you’re still a working stiff like me, you’re in the market for work-appropriate clothes. gone are the days when we had to wear suits to work unless you’re an attorney or work in finance. these days it’s more about elevating an outfit with simple details like black pants or unstructured jacket. the inspiration of today’s ootd starts with a wide leopard belt similar here. notice the brown and black color scheme? that’s the color combo that guides my choices. first, i chose a pair of black wide-leg pants that are on trend and flattering to boot. then a brown suede jacket similar here and brown shoes were added to the mix. a black silk blouse would be a nice option, but i kept the overall look light with a sleeveless ivory shell. see how easy it is to pull an outfit together? all you need is one item for inspiration and guidance.
