it’s a long weekend, gang! labor day has arrived and with it a bittersweet farewell to summer. some of us might be bitten by the travel bug and head out of town on a three-day trip. others might stay home and fire up the grill for a barbecue, laze around the house or sip a drink poolside. whatever your plans may be – enjoy! mr. style and i and the critters are staying home this weekend as we’ll be flying to florida next thursday for five days of fun in the sun.
today’s classic cocktail is perfect for a hot summer day. anyone remember long island iced tea? to be honest, i haven’t slurped one down in years. and i do mean slurp because these drinks are tasty if not a bit potent. one glance at the ingredients and you know this drink means business. nonetheless, it’s a lovely addition to any summertime gathering. just pace yourself…

high rise jeans from J.Crew are back in action after a summer hiatus. many of you know i’ve been keen on adding dresses to my closet this year. add blouses to that list. this top from Anthropologie was purchased for our florida trip. it has a matching skirt. but i couldn’t wait to wear it, so you get a sneak peek so to speak of an outfit coming your way in a week or two. this halter top looks adorable with white skinny jeans or white shorts.

I haven’t made a rosemary/lemon chicken in a while–looks great. I might have to pin this version with the thighs–sounds yummy. The first time I ever had a LI Iced Tea, I was so thirsty I slurped a good bit and oh, wow, did that hit me! Soooo good, but boy did I feel it, not realizing what all was in it. I love that drink.
