fridays with oscar

the weather decided to put a halting screech on my spring happy dance. good golly, miss molly it’s been chilly the past few days. but i’m stubbornly forgoing a cashmere sweater and puffer jacket. instead, i grabbed an all-season trench coat from 1.2.3 similar here that gives this ootd a pinch of style. a relaxed grey cowl sweater from athleta with a cozy inner lining keeps me toasty warm. since i’m rockin’ neutrals today, i decided to add white girlfriend jeans with a relaxed fit from Talbots instead of blue jeans. fyi Talbots is running a sale on pants – $20 off 1, $50 off 2+ regular price. last but not least i’m wearing my favorite calf-hair flats from Madewell. this pair is about five years old and still going strong. take a look at Sam Edelman or Patricia Green for a comparable shoe.

oscar doesn’t know how lucky he is with that fur coat of his! this guy is stylish and warm every time he steps out the door for his walk. at least the sun was shining, and we didn’t have to shuffle through snow drifts like many regions of the U.S.. when i lived in the Midwest i welcomed the month of march with fear and trepidation. mentally, you are finished with winter and can’t muster the courage to watch another snowflake fall. but yet, there’s always one more snowstorm that pays a visit. and i mean storm. typically the snow flurries and basketball tournaments went hand-in-hand. at least, that was my mother’s theory. i think she was right!
