closet essential there’s something so crisp and classic about a white shirt. maybe that’s why i have more than one hanging in my closet. tuck one into a pencil skirt and you’ve transformed into office appropriate chicdom. or throw one over a pair of denim and you’re ready for a casual evening out. over the weekend, mr. style and i went to see cafe society (nothing earth-shattering, but a sweet story) then bopped downtown for an evening cocktail. i opted to add a silk scarf and a cute little handbag into the mix to give this outfit some oomph. micro bags that are super sleek and carry the bare essentials are on-trend this season. so keep one eye out for one that tickles your fancy. patterned sandals finish off this ootd but let’s not forget to add a pop of color with a bold lip.

labels: shirt J.Crew (similar here and here); denim flawless-five pocket Talbots; scarf Ralph Lauren (similar here and here); shoes Via Spiga (only solid colors available); handbag c/o Beltini; lipstick Lana by Nars

To use an overused word from the past, you look awesome! A white shirt with a popped collar and a silk scarf, and you’re good to go. The shoes and the bag elevate the chic level. xoxo

I saw that white blouse–it didn’t even registered with me that it was a popover ’til I’m seeing it on you. Looks pretty! Love the scarf/shoes tying things together.

i’m a big fan of j.crew’s popover’s. any popover for that matter. for me, they are an easier fit than a traditional button-down

I like the whole outfit but would really like to know the brand of your sunglasses. Where are they from?
