It starts with a beautiful halter top and city shorts from J.Crew. If a color is trending for fall, cobalt blue is seen everywhere. The top is available in buff clay and black and has matching pants that look dreamy to wear! I wasn’t aware the top had matching pants when I purchased it over a month ago, but guess what? The pants are on their way to my house. I can’t resist a matching set!

To keep the outfit relaxed, I chose a pair of black slingbacks (old, similar slingbacks), but I added some bling with crystal earrings (sold out, similar crystal earrings) and matching bracelet. All in all, this outfit is casual, chic, and above all comfy and perfect to throw in your suitcase if you’re traveling and need an outfit for a casual dinner. But don’t forget you can always add a blazer to up the chic factor.

I love the outfit but wonder how much the crepe fabric wrinkles. I have a trip this fall and am looking for some easy to pack pieces that don’t require a lot of ironing.
The crepe does wrinkle but not as much as linen. Nothing a good steamer can’t help fix.

Hi Beth, My husband and I are going away for just a 2 day trip this weekend to Connecticut. We’re living in the Catskills of upstate NY. We are headed to an outdoor event so I’ll be wearing shorts, sneakers and a lightweight top. Love your outfit today. Also, would you mention in an upcoming post the makeup you’ve been wearing lately?
