oscar is off to the vet today for his annual check-up and shots. overall, his health is quite good. he suffers from allergies from time-to-time, but other than that there’s nothing to report. he’s still a bit of a string bean as he tends to graze his food instead of devouring it in one sitting. lately, he has been liking salmon and potato grain free food. he’s always up for a walk, or playing fetch, and he loves hanging out with other dogs. when he was a puppy we rarely took him for a car ride as he suffered from car sickness. but the past few months it looks as if we’ve outgrown that phase (thank God). he’s been on the muni (san francisco’s public transportation), to the beach, and on an airplane. not bad for a 15 month-old german shepherd. his current weight is 75 lbs, but i imagine once filled-out he’ll be around 85 – 90 lbs. he gets a kick out of ‘fridays with oscar’ and definitely knows it’s his weekly gig. most days he shows up ready to ham for the camera. today he was in quasi-form as he was far more interested in going for a car ride than posing for photos. he really does like visiting our vet. when he was younger he would cry and pull on his leash as we approached the front door. thankfully, he’s also outgrown that phase as people would stop and stare to see if we were being unkind to our puppy…(it was mostly social anxiety, but disappeared with leash training and puppy socialization).
on that happy note, oscar and i wish each of you a lovely weekend!

there’s something so fresh about pastels. especially in winter. it’s a no-brainer when we wear them in spring/summer. but when we decide to pull on a dose of pink or purple or sky blue in january it’s like a breath of fresh air. pair that pastel with white denim and it’s a double-dose of fun. i know, i know, many of you simply can’t bring yourselves to wear white denim in winter. and that’s perfectly fine – style is all about what YOU feel comfortable, and confident wearing. period. i’ve advised many women if you don’t feel like a boss when you stand in front of the mirror then don’t wear it. but, if you want to be nudged out of your comfort zone try white denim in january. it’s a safe bet, and many women have been rocking their winter whites for several seasons now. i added a pair of sparkly shoes to my ootd because we all know i want the items in my closet to work for me day-in and day-out. and they tied in perfectly with my reversible metallic puffer vest – the other side is black. a dash of leopard with my belt and i’m out the door ready for a few errands, and maybe i’ll squeeze in a cup of coffee as the temps are on the chilly side.
